Would have ordered, had they been in ROM.

I don't know but I've been told
You can't get any ROM disks
Cuz they all been sold (j/k)

All I can figure out from limbo is that he is thinking the dvd rom drive(a rom drive can only read not write) in his puter can play only dvd-rom disks, it can play nearly all types except a dvd-ram disk. A ROM(read only disk) is one that that can only be read. This means that it was physically stamped data onto the DVD, newer methods can burn the data in a production enviroment but the quality is less then stamping in my opinion.
A dvd-r can be read by nearly every dvd player made in the last 10+ years, media manufacturer would be the only factor in it not being read. Thats more of a problem with dvd+r then a dvd-r disk.
A dvd-r is in a sense a rom disk as it can be written to once.

Disclaimer: I can state only what I've learned using/upgrading/building pc's for the last 13 years. I was one of the dummies that bought a dvd writer for the incredibly low price of $400 when they first came on the market, now you can get one that will handle everything for $100 or less.

It seems his issue is he believes stamping to be a more stable media than burning. If you really feel like it might be an issue, copy the dvd's onto an external harddrive (for personal use only). If your DVD-R's malfunction, burn another one from the copy you have on hard disk.

As far as the DVD's, the quality is fine. It's not perfect but it is more than acceptable. The service was great. I ordered mine on Friday. It shipped on Saturday and I received it on Monday. I was not expecting it to get here this fast (Las Vegas to Kentucky).

Already started watching. Thanks again Justin.

I have used both DVD-R and DVD+R disc, I have noticed with some people who have older DVD players that they wont be able to play +R disc since they did not come out until around 2004. So if your DVD player was made before 04 then -R will work but +R will not, if your DVD player is that old it might be time for an upgrade anyway to a blu-ray player which plays all formats including being able to hook up via HDMI for better picture quality to plasma and LCD tvs, it will also upconvert to a better quality your regular DVDs.

I have a blu-ray player which I can connect an ipod too and play music through it, play files on a USB stick or external hard drive, watch online content through net flix and other services, for around $120 it is well worth it. Another thing I noticed is people do not always change there TV settings to watch different stuff, my flat screen enables me to change the lighting to darker or brighter just like a regular old school CRT would but with pre-programmed settings like movie, football, game, and other stuff, so if your picture is too dark or too bright then try messing around a bit with your settings to find the best picture.

Okay enough rambling but hopefully it gets some of you up to speed on things, its not always the seller who has messed up but the operator who does not have the right equipment (current stuff) or use the equipment, this happens a good deal with computers and live streams too, my one buddies computer was not updated for 2 years and I mean nothing, lmao. Looks like a great DVD package Justin and a sweet price too.

This is to just share information. cheers

Basically, ROM are professionally done by a Media Manufacturer, and are of better quality, and do cost more to produce, as the MOQ is rather high & have a Stamper Fee. Most of these professional shops have strict Quality Checks, from verifying the Master, producing the Glass Master & the stamping & label printing process. Lots of automation, so less human finger prints on the Media. Less handling, less scratches.

R media (Recordable) can be done by anyone with an appropriate burner & software (single copy). For multiple copies, most Duplicating Towers can do COPY as well as COMPARE the duplicated medias vs the Original in the "Master Drive" if this option is selected prior to copying. But by doing so, the copying time is pretty much doubled.
Most places do not do an "Analyze Test" to grade the quality of the Originar Master Disc or the copied R media as far as readability/playability. NOTE - The copies can never have a higher Grade than the Original. If the Original is a grade "C", the target copies can never achieve an "A or B" Grade. (Grade A is the best quality).
The Faster the Copying Speed used, will normally result in a lower grade copy.

The brand & specifications of the R media also plays a big part on the quality. Avoid using extremely cheap R media, we have found majority gives us a D grade. Still playable/readable, but ....... ?

R media also do not last as long, that is why it is good to back it up, provided there is no "protection", otherwise you will need to do some extra effort to back it up to HD.
