This morning I get up at 7 am (very late for me), take my coffee and my player and what I thought was my break cue out on the screened patio to hit some drills. Last night I ended playing the 10-ball ghost so I just racked the 10 balls for that as they were still in the catch tray. Just to warm up.
I rack the 10 balls and grab my break cue. Opps, it’s not my break cue, it’s one of my DP $150 cues and at least 2 oz. less than my break cue. Being too lazy to slide the FL glass door back and reach in the cue rack for my breaker I said what the hell, lets see if this cue can take a break.
For at least 6 months I’ve been trying to duplicate SVB’s break. I can duplicate the break and make balls but can’t get the QB to jump up and land in the middle of the table more than 2 in 10 breaks and my back usually is killing me by then.
I figure I can’t get the power to break hard enough from my regular QB placement with this light of a cue so I break like I watched Alex breaking 10-ball on a BB from the side rail. First break 4 balls and a good spread with a shot on the lowest ball (the 4-ball) Out I ran. Next break (same way) 3 balls on the break with good spread and shot on lowest ball. I played about 10 racks and made 1 to 4 balls every time but once. I know I hit that rack bad. I never thought a lighter cue could make that much difference. Johnnyt
