First 2 Mosconi Cup events

Reading the article about the Turning Stone and Derby City 9 ball events being Mosconi Cup events, and wondered if there are any openings for players that are not currently in the event, but would like to get in now because of the announcement. I was thinking these events are probably already full.

I was thinking the same thing. The Derby won't fill up because they don't have a player limit. But, the Turning Stone almost always fills up the 128 player bracket. My bad the Derby does have a limit of 400 max for the 9-ball.

Hi there Mole Eye,

Turning Stone is full however Derby fields are still open!

Merry Christmas, Chicagoplayer ( and everyone else)
forgot about Derby having no limit, but guessed correctly that Turning Stone would be full. Any players that the public would like to see on the Cup team missing TS?
Thanks for the info

Let's get real. Anyone with serious Mosconi aspirations for 2016 knew ages ago that Turning Stone would carry Mosconi points and will have already signed up.

No blindside here.

Agreed
If there were such a thing as 'the circuit' TS XXV would be on it and just about everyone knows that. The tournament doesn't come to you.

Yes if people are missing turning stone then they don't have ambitions to play in the Mosconi
I can see guys like Morris mills nevel etc complaining but you can't complain of you don't go to the events
Sucks how no events in the northwest area tho
Wonder if dechaine will even bother this year ?
Can't have Schmidt dechaine Corey to stand a chance
Svb needs to play mich better sky bergs maybe Rodney if he gets his act together and leaves a wildcard spot open

Yeah, but that didn't stop a hopeful from entering late last T.S.
Miraculously, they went from pretty deep on the waiting list to IN the tournament bypassing people ahead of them. I wonder if the evidence is still on FB?
I mean, I know Mike runs a tight show, but hhmmmmmmmm. I wonder how that happened?;)

Although I don't think it has been announced yet, I imagine some of the USA players will qualify automatically based on accumulated points. If so, any of the three players you named could be on the team.

Yes, the Mosconi hopefuls should play TS, guessing that it would be included. Was the January edition of TS included last year? I was under the impression that Derby City was the first event included in 2015.

Yes, DCC 9-Ball was the first points event in 2015. By the time Matchroom made their first announcement about 2015 points events, TS XXIII had already passed (Jan. 8-11).

You know-

You know that sometimes we must be masters of the obvious-

there are many novices and amateurs who are simply unaware of what tournaments are what, and the even worse problem that exists- procrastination.

I can't fault the ones who don't know.
Only the ones who know and do nothing until the last minute...

Where might we find the players who have entered the Turning Stone? I would like to see if the players I am hoping make the Cup team are actually in it. Some will be, but probably some are not.

They've update their site with the list:
