Hard Times Billiards is hosting the first annual Tad Cup USA on the weekend of September 4th and 5th. Tad previously held the tournament every year in Japan (and it still goes on there) for the past decade or so, but had decided to hold one in the USA specifically geared towards amateurs. It is a Handicap tournament geared towards low-level A and below amateur (about 85 and under in USPPA which translates to maximum level of "12" in the tournament). Entry is $50 by August 27th, $75 after. First prize will be a 4-prong Tad Cue. Cash prizes will be for 2nd place on down. All sign ups get a free gift from Tad with paid entry. This tournament was originally aimed at Southern California players. As such, anyone mailing in an entry form must provide a copy of a government issued Photo ID and of a USPPA ranking, since that is the only system that I can currently convert to the rating system I use. If you are not ranked at a Southern California room or more specifically rooms local to Hard Times, you may be able to sign up but be warned, I reserve the right to pull any player deemed too good at any time. The player forfeits their entry money if that occurs. I don't care how long you haven't played pool in, my understanding is that no Handicap system is perfect, but I will settle for being fair the the greatest percentage of people as I can. You can reach me at my phone number listed or e-mail me at DetroitIron@gmail.com or samskim@csupomona.edu if you have questions. Contact me for entry forms as I can't upload the pdf due to its 3000kb size. Jpg image of flyer is attached.
