Congrats to both of you on your first run-outs. I believe my first 9-ball run-out was 1955:eek: ...my first 8-ball run-out was a few years before that. Johnnyt

I had about a 20 year gap between my first in 8ball & 9ball, but then I only started playing 9ball last year!:D

Congratulations!

I got my first break and run eight days ago, and I started playing snooker in April and Pool about 2 months ago. Hope you have many more!

EDIT: Was this 8 or 9 ball?

thanks for the link. it was 8 ball, i played horrible the rest of the night but i didnt care

That's great! Congrats! You won't forget the first! My first 9 & 8 came the same cool week in '92! How long have you been shooting for?

Congrats! Must be something in the air! Cause run outs seem to be a flowing!

Such a good feeling. That feeling is what keeps us coming back to the table day after day. Way to go!

This is my second session in league since I decided to get back into pool. I too, had my first break and run (in league) just two nights ago. Yes, it feels great to have all your teammates (and a couple of your opponents) give you high-five and pats on the back for a "job well done". And like BVal said, it's those feelings that keep us coming back to the table day after day. As the title of a book states, it's the pleasures of small motions.

Keep up the run-outs

When I was 16 years old, I met up with a bunch of friends of mine to go play pool. The father of one of my friends said, "I'm going with you guys. I want to play, too!" Well, this is a big deal for a 16 year old out on a Saturday night at Chelsea Billiards so we were all a little upset by this. We literally could do nothing about it either. Like most teenagers, how much money we had really meant how much money our parents gave us so we had no choice.

My friend's father had a sense of what was going on and said to us, "Well, if any of you kids can beat me, I'll go home!" The very first game, I broke and ran out for the first time. I was so excited and felt very bad all at the same time. He ended up leaving an hour or so later which made me feel better but at that moment, I thought he was literally going to get his jacket and leave!

Wow, I hadn't thought about that in a while. I think I'll give the old man a call and see if he still plays!

Congrats! Played in a tournament last night and had a break and run in my first match, second game. It was a race to 3 and that was my second win...that was pretty much the nail in the coffin. This was on an 8 foot table. It's easier to run out on an 8 or 9 footer than a bar box in my opinion.

Sounds great. Just wait 'til you hit'em with a "4." Or a "5." It will come oh runout player. It will come.
