I don't live under a rock but I do live under Oklahoma! LOL! I'm actually not from the south at all and was merely having fun writing up a bullshit story!
There is more than one way to skin a cat but damn some people make this game out to be more complicated than it is with some of the arguments lol.
Nice, how's the corn growing this year?
100 bushels an acre or what?

Most of the arguments are because too many on here seem to have trouble understanding what they are reading. For example, on this topic of center ball. One side says to use mainly center axis. Far too many on the other side read it as never use any english. Then they start saying that the mainly center ball users don't know how to play, and can't use english, and then it goes downhill from there.
Hi Neil,
I know you are not referring to me but what do you think about my post 96 and 98 here?http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=405425&page=7
It is a good drill. Ever done the wagon wheel drill? (it's F7 of the fundamentals drill on the Billiard University test http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=321301) It's also done with the vertical axis of the cb.
I was asking if you use amount of english to control the line, rather than draw or follow, in that drill or shots like it.
For sure I have done the wagon wheel drill. It is a must do drill imo and yes when the object ball is farther away from the rail you must be able to use the vertical axis precisely.
I prefer not to use english unless I want to change the natural line. In your example, no english is necessary, and it is easier without english.
Thanks for the response. I dont find the English necessary but it is certainly easier for me to control the line using English. When using vertical axis only if I am off on my speed then the cueball is not sliding at contact and the cueball will not rebound straight out.
If I am off on my speed when using outside english it doesnt matter as much and the cueball is not sliding and it will still rebound straight out.

I'm just saying since the prefered cueball direction is to rebound straight out I like to roll the cueball and use outside english to rebound straight out. The amount of outside english depends on the angle of the shot. This is much easier than trying to slide the cueball in so that you can rebound on the tangent line.
And I always thought that to make the cueball rebound straight - 90 degrees from the rail - I had to use inside english - silly me.
Maybe I'm confused but I thought forums were for the open discussion of ideas. I don't use an aiming system. I've tried them ... They work...but they're not for me. So actually how about you stfu and grow up and learn to skip over subjects you actually have no interest in and let people alone who do. It's not difficult.

That is silly!
I agree with this comment. Center ball seems like a very reasonable topic of discussion, especially since most amateur players probably play too much spin anyways. It is certainly as worthy of discussion as the comparison of different shafts and whether or not they are worth the money is. I guarantee that learning where to correctly play the CB and minimizing your need for english will improve your game more than any shaft.
Actually, the tangent line is slightly away from the pocket. So, when using no english, you want a little bit of follow to come straight up table.
