IMO i'd hold onto the 5k and wait til u have another 10-15k to add to the additional 5k. Then, you should have enough to have a descent cue. 5k would be too much of a tease. Why tease urself whne ur 1/4 of the way there. Better to save and spend big. Rather than spend and then have to start over on saving again....=-)

McWorter Cue $2,200.00

ThomasCase 2 x 4 $695.00

Justis Case 3 x 6 $645.00

Madden Custom the REST....

5 Large?
There are a whole bunch you cannot go wrong with:
No Particular Order ...Yet

Hercek - very few made, each one made right
Black - truly innovative, good hit
SouthWest - Jerry Era ... fantastic (mostly due to Owens-Corning specific Micarta - my opinion - flame off)
Joss West - Artistic, solid, great resale.
Tascarella - What King Kong would use if the big gorilla played
Gina - Wow ... yeah design, hit a-ok too ;)
Tad - Another wow - If the devil is in the details, these must be shipped straight from the underworld
Dave Kersenbrock - crazy exotic brilliant -
Dave Kikel - seamless - great wood - good hit - good resale

as far as the order, shuffle it til it meets what you are looking for.
