Five grand to spend

Think many here after spending $5,000.00 on a cue would be the owner of a Dead Mans Cue, as many Wives would Kill Ya... :p

That depends on what prize you buy for your wife.
I would suggest something that sparkles, a whole lot.

Ok, you have $5,000 to spend on a cue which cue maker would you choose and why?
kenny murell cue because in the end it's all about how awsome they play and they play awsome. I think cogs hit like crap lol but it's all opinion. <Hates cues that don't move the cue ball well and hitt like a marshmello> ;)

Which cue maker doesn't stand behind their work?

I wouldnt use one maker but a couple of makers and number one would be Mike Webb Custom Cues as he makes a great cue for the money and stands behind his product unlike a lot of other makers that i have owned in the past.. Second would be a Kikel as i love his work and have never dealt with him or played with one of his cues... $2500.00 a piece should get a couple of nice cues :D :D :D

Edwin Reyes for me. A 7-pointer with original scrim and ivory engraves. I hope $5k would be enough...

Argh! my wife just woke me up!!! :D

I am not here to "dirty" anyones name but i have had cues that had issues and they give you a price to fix instead of trying to fix there product....... Customer satisfaction is key..................................

If I am keeping the cue to play with...

Mottey/White or Skip..

I think playability or hit (I know, subective) and combined with the style I prefer, plus I am comfortable with the construction of both cues. Not to mention personal relationships and the like.

Hercek and Searing.
The wait would be killer but so would owning one of each.
If anything was left over I think I would put towards a James White.

Speaking of James White, hey Scott

Koop - it's ok to dream

With $5K

My suggestion would be a Schick

I have a Tad, and for $1800 for a bottom end is rough. Southwests, same.

I would guess $5k would get you a pretty good cue. While most may find my suggestions wierd, cues are like coins and guns. It is better to have higher end and fewer than lots of lower end, IMO. Obviously overpaying for any cue is a bad idea.

Secondly, while Gilberts IMO are the best playing cue for the money, I would not suggest paying 5k. Szamboti, Schick, Tas, are the way to go.

Even if you have add a little.

Regards
Ken

I wouldn't drop that kind of coin on one cue. I'd buy the Capone I've been wanting, a Searing, and a Zylr. I'd sell my Jacoby and expect to sell one of the cues above after checking it out (or more than one, depending on how I like them). Considering the strong resale value of these cues, I'd eventually end up with one awesome cue and some cash for a good pool school.

The real smart money says I'll indulge on a 2k cue and take the other 3k and get lessons and pay for practice. :)
