Fix wobble?

So I recently acquired a cue that has a shaft and butt that roll dead straight separately but has somewhat of a wobble when rolled together (tip comes off table by about 5mm at one point). It does not wobble if I do not screw the shaft on all the way, and does not wobble if I don't screw it on very tight (if i leave 0.5mm between shaft and butt joint).
Anyone know if this kind of wobble is fixable? And if so, is it possible to do it yourself or do I have to take it to a cuemaker?

Sounds like a joint facing problem. Any good cuemaker should be able to fix it for you and it is usually pretty inexpensive...

Take it to a cue maker. You'll be in and out in less than 5 minutes unless you do some talkin. :smile:

It could also be a slightly bent pin, no? I've read about that a couple of times on here. Either way, I don't think it can be fixed by yourself, definitely want to take it to a cuemaker.

I agree with everyone else, you just need the joint refaced. Very quick and inexpensive to do by any good cuemaker or repairman.

I have the almost the exact problem with my Sherm Adamson cue..thanks for the info i just haven't had time to post the question..thanks a bunch guys..

I'm not professing to know much about cues, but it doesn't look like a bent pin because it's straight all the way until you screw it on very tight. I had a hunch it may have been the flat surface where the joints met that was screwy, but you guys just confirmed it for me. Thanks!
