Flying With Cue Cases?

I'm heading to Vegas here in a couple weeks for the 9 ball Shootout. I've never been and I'll be flying. It looks like on TSA's website you can't carry on cue cases, you have to check them.

My main question, kinda concerned about theft and also my girlfriend will probably be bringing her cues. I was thinking maybe a duffle bag to put both our cue cases in and locking it.

Trying to see how you guys secure/travel with your cue cases! Thanks in advance!

Leave the cue/case flying to FedEx 2nd day air to Vegas. Pick them up when you arrive.

Went last year and will be out there again at the same time of you. I flew southwest, so checked my pool case. Had no issues.

Use a suitcase large enough to fit your cue case inside then surround with all your clothes. Checked luggage, so considered acceptable by TSA. Flew this way with no problems.

checked it in

Hi

Good luck in Vegas.

I've done it several ways. In a baseball duffle bag with clothing wrapped around my case. In a hardshell golf carry case, put four cases in that one. Also took my teams cues to Hawaii in a J Flowers hard travel case. Guess I'm lucky, no issues at all.

Regards
Dave

I bought this bag a long time ago. I put a hard 1x2 Whitten inside, some clothes for padding, and secure it with a TSA lock. Has worked great so far.

carry on... no problem

Hi,
I just returned from a week in Phoenix. BOS > PHX non stop on AA.
I wasn't sure what to expect, but from multiple threads here on AZ> I wasn't optimistic.
I carried no frills 1x1 through security and on to the plane in both directions.
No one said a word or seemed to care in the least.
I gulped and asked at check in> the AA counter person checking my luggage yelled over to a colleague..." Hey, what about this?" as I held up the cue case.... no problem.
Safe travels.

I bought a JB Rugged just for flying (doesn't help with theft, but good vs. baggage handlers). I liked it so much that I kept using it all the time--strong and secure, relatively light, well placed handles, comfortable strap, nice pockets.

The non-leather ones are quite reasonably priced IMO. See https://jbcases.com/cases-for-sale-instock/rugged-cases.html.

I just check it like a bag, but if you put it in a duffel or similar, even better.
