Food for Thought Regarding a Truly Objective Aiming Method

What a foul thing to say to one of the most standup guys here on AZB! You are seriously in need of a padded cell and a straight jacket.

Stand up guys do not infer that another might be a child molester just to incite an emotional respond toward resulting in a possible ban.

If that is what you think is a "stand up" kind of guy then that Bourbon Street location is too good for you too.

This is untrue; an objective system could take pocket slop into account.

But it wouldn't matter - it's still too many cut angles for any system to be usable by humans without "adjustments".

LMAO!! WRONG!! But since you're such an expert on the system (as with everything else) please explain WHAT THOSE ADJUSTMENTS ARE and WHEN OR WHERE THEY OCCUR FOR CUT ANGLES THEY SUPPOSEDLY DON'T COVER?

We say they do cover all cut angles. We KNOW they cover all cut angles from experience of shooting every possible shot on the table. Ball is in your court to show when, where, and how it doesn't happen and then the adjustments that will correct.

You saying that "IT"covers all angles objectively does not make it so.

Please logically explain how 90 angles are covered by objective indicators for those angles with no subjective interpretation or input.

My OP explains how that is impossible in any practical manner.

Nor does your absurd explanation make it so especially with those of us who are experienced users.

All you are is like a GIANT PUS BOIL AND BLIGHT ON THIS ENTIRE FORUM!

You don't need a BAN where you can come slithering back like you've done before.

You need to be ERADICATED from this forum once and for all like Fast Larry was to NEVER BE ABLE TO POST AGAIN!!

MENTAL HELP WOULD BE YOUR BEST ROAD TO TAKE.

19 posts in your CTE thread. Oh the euphoria you must be feeling.

ps. Still waiting on your real name.

26 posts & 4 on topic.

1 by Patrick Johnson & 3 by myself.

It seems that the vocal CTEers want this very logical food for thought regarding any possibility of what a true objective aiming system would entail to get so bad... that it gets removed from view.

What a tactic, instead of any simple explanations, discussion, &/or debate.

I certainly hope that that does not happen as everyone should have information from which to base their own determinations & not just be led by others.

That is what PJ & others like myself have been trying to provide.

Everyone should do their own thinking & make their own determinations. Why some seem to want to stifle that is beyond me... unless that have ulterior motive.

Maybe you are right about me. Fact is, though, I'd rather live in a Bourbon St. gutter with Duke than to spend 2 minutes in a pool room with you.

He already stated that he no longer goes into pool rooms and has no desire. He just knows everything.

Here's what NEAR GENIUS (something he refused to verify with answers asked about it) posted on another thread:

I'm 62 with a ruptured disc in my back & have my first Grandchild who is 2.

I'll choose spending time with him over being in a pool hall any day.

I've played my pool & it was plenty enough given that I started a family at 30 & my wife was okay with me still playing 3 or even 4 nights a week for stretches at a time.

You few know nothing about me other than what I truthfully tell you.

From his post it seems like he NEVER SPENT MUCH TIME IN A POOL ROOM SINCE HE WAS 30 YEARS OLD!! It was erratic and doesn't sound like he's been in a pool room for MANY YEARS. BUT HE SURE KNOWS HIS CTE FROM EXPERIENCE!! AS FAR AS HIM BEING TRUTHFUL, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
IF ONLY CLOWNS AT A BARNUM & BAILEY CIRCUS COULD BE AS FUNNY AS HE IS!!

The common thread among the vocal supporters, other than the 'attack' the messenger tactic, seems to be the totally illogical manner in which they voice their assumptions (those kind of individuals) in order to give completely inaccurate impressions of their 'target'.

All I did was to open a thread so as to provide logical food for thought of just what it would encompass for any aiming method to truly be 'an objective aiming method'.

The logical conclusion should be that one would be impossible & especially so for any practical application.

Then a whole series of nothing but vitriolic post are made by the CTE supporters.

That is very telling to me & should be for other neutral individuals too but...

each individual should make their own determinations regarding both matters.

Best Wishes to ALL.

And what could your motives be for starting a CTE thread? Perhaps you want it to lead to CTE supporter bans.

I really don't understand this crusade you are on regarding objectivity? Truthfulness in advertising is a noble idea in theory, but will not ever be achieved, otherwise there would be no point in advertising at all. Because of rules and regulations you can no longer say that a car is the "best" at anything without a qualifier (some sort of review agency/test result). Of course almost no one ever bother to look into those agencies, or their methods so very little has been achieved by this kind of rule.

On one hand, I understand the need for clarity and exactness in instructions, on the other hand I don't really see the value of an aiming system that nobody could possibly utilize. It is my belief that human beings like, and have an easier time handling simplified and few categories, over very complex systems with possibly near 3 digit numbers of categories. As far as I know, research also shows this to be true. The structure of armies are more or less constructed around our limitations. For instance we have difficulty remembering and socializing with more than 100-150 people, which is the size of a company, etc etc. And our short term memory is limited to 4-7 categories, which means that there is great value in grouping our perceptions of any kind into those numbers of categories, for the sake of remembering them.

An aiming system with 89 categories or defined angles, even one with 75, would be completely useless in any practical application. Even if you could remember all the different aimpoints (and speed/spin compensations) needed, there is still the problem of identifying the angles exactly and then applying the aim/spin, which is why I tried to develop a system of precise angle measurement, that was supposed to be quick and easy (I failed). There are also equipment differences to consider...

The best any aiming system can do, is to give you reliable "markers" to aim for, and then allow your subconscious to make adjustments. As such CTE is no worse than the three angle cut system (quarters) or any other system that immidiately comes to mind. Joe Tuckers method may have an edge over it in that department, but I can see that going either way.

You can criticize the various doubtful claims made, but when it comes down to the nitty gritty, the system itself is not so different from the various others. You need time to understand and apply it etc. When they are so stubborn about not making any adjustments, that is probably because they honestly believe that to be true. When you have a thin CTE/ETA the visual will have to be different than another shot of a different angle. It's just a matter of wording wether that is called "adjusting" or "learning". I don't know why they would be so allergic to the word? When people go bananas and threaten/abuse people on the forum, it's easy to get pissed off and then go after every statement they make with a microscope. It is not a very productive way to go about it, IMO. And not every insult will have to be answered at lenght. You only give legitimacy to that kind of behavior by doing that. When someone calls you a child molester for disagreeing with them about aiming, they have showed themselves as someone unable to discuss a matter factually and as such as a cretin whose opinions should be given no weight at all. I may be naive, but I believe most of the forum is in agreement on that.

I believe most of the forum if not ALL of it is in agreement that English should be sent to Siberia without a computer and NEVER let free to come back to this country or any other country. Especially those with access to the worldwide internet.

It is absolutely sickening and disgusting already!!

Thanks Much. You get it.

That being the case though, an inaccurate description should not just be allowed to continue along to entice others with such a grandiose inaccuracy especially as it relates to the very principle of the intended action & use.

I've said before... that I am certainly not the best Christian. When some one walks up & shoves me off my seat, I don't just sit there on the floor or simply get up & quietly walk away.

But... I'm learning due to the over exposure of such vitriolic behavior by a group of individuals here on AZB.

I make no post to try to convince the die hard that has made their determination. It's all about providing info for the undecided individuals so that can they make their own determinations & know what to expect.

Best Wishes for You & Yours,
Rick

H-mmm... I'll be 64 in another month. I'm overweight, diabetic, have bad vision, a bad back, flat feet, and equilibrium problems stemming from a bad case of Lyme meningitis several years ago. I have raging carpal tunnel in both hands, rotator cuff damage in both shoulders, nerve impingement in my right elbow and arthritis in my neck, knees, wrists, and hands.

I also have 4 acres of property to maintain (including an enormous market garden) and several ongoing projects, both indoors and out. We have 20 chickens that need attention, as well as a very needy Australian Shepard pup who takes up a lot of my time in training. I also have 2 young grandchildren who I love dearly and see every chance I get. And yet...

I love pool so much that I play every chance I get. I'm downstairs at the table on and off for at least a couple hours a day, and if I didn't have my own table, I have a real nice room 10 minutes away that I would go to. In spite of being a mediocre player for all my life, my passion for the game just keeps getting stronger, in large part due to the support and encouragement I find here on AZB.

And then there is English Dick, who has no passion for anything pool related, but who seems to have a passion for shit disturbing and pretty little girls, both of which he graciously shares with us all here. Any wonder why he is still clueless about how and why CTE actually works?

Hey, maybe we should all just get banned so we wouldn't have to deal with him. That seems a lot easier than getting him banned. Hell, I've been thinking of committing suicide by forum cop for awhile now, just so I can get to say what I really feel once and for all.

I was wrong about you...

that location is too high of a place for you...

99 was right... anyone that stoops that low with such vile, disgusting, & immoral of suggestions

voids themselves of any consideration on any subject.

I've pretty much stayed out of the CTE wars..........you'll be hard pressed to find even one recent post (within 2 years) of me arguing for or against the system.

He gets involved in many different threads (think CJ tenure) and ends up coming off as a know-it-all......ends up pissing multiple people off. This is a clear pattern since he joined AZB.

As far as the "child molester" thing. I never said he was a child molester although the way it went down some could infer that..............my bad, poorly written by me at the time. It was in the long "Elbow Drop" thread where I questioned one of his favorite posters (not CJ).........and of course he was in dead stroke with his usual drivel. Background checks for Billiard Instructors came up......well I better stop here.

14000+ posts!!...........10% soft porn.
