For anyone that had real action on Rodney/Raj match....

I'm with John here. I watched several games and saw no evidence of a dump or "business." It is entirely possible that they are making a "saver" here, but that is something entirely different than a dump. When there are thousands on the line many pros will "save" something, like $500 or a $1,000. That is a normal and acceptable practice. They are still playing to win though!

Rodney's playing style is fast and loose, so it may look like he is taking the match too lightly sometimes. Not so, that's his way of staying relaxed and avoiding the pressure. I saw two players playing their best pool and both trying to win. That's my opinion. I think to say otherwise does a disservice to both men.

Jay, I think you nailed this one.

If anyone has watched Rodney more than once, they would know that his fast and loose style turns around and bites him once in a while.
Also, IIRC, Rodney's break just wasn't working when he was playing Raj. That is a huge difference in a match like this.

I watched the entire match and saw no evidence of a dump. That these players are roommates and good friends does not constutute even the slightest bit of evidence for a dump.

Threads in which the integrity of players is brought into question without any evidence are deplorable, and should be removed from the forum by the moderators.

People will always see what they want to see and nothing will change that. If you want to call this match a dump, then Rodney has been dumping every match for his entire career. He is the polar opposite to Souqet in style. He doesn't look carefully at his next position and plays from where he lands.

To say it is a dump without firsthand knowledge does a disservice to the players.

Some things are just better left unsaid. This speculation is just that - and is unfair to the players out there trying to get by. That said, I was scratching my head while watching this match, but I wouldn't go so far as to state what is in the OP.

Many players have stated how difficult it is to play an opponent who is a good friend. It can and does adversely affect play at times.

Morris broke only 5 times:
- Game 1. Made two balls, then missed a three-ball combination.
- Game 3. Dry.
- Game 6. Made one ball, then played a poor safety.
- Game 11. Made one ball, then played safe.
- Game 12. Scratched.
So he made a ball 3 times out of 5, which is about normal, but you're right in the sense that he never developed anything good off the break.

Maybe it's OK to leave them; they usually lead to discussion pointing out the absurdity of the original claim.

Success on the break is not just about making balls. It is also having a shot after the break. I really don't remember the exact details but I just don't think Rodney was being successful.

I sure hope u people have your facts straight because I was there...it takes alot of balls calling people out like that...guess that's why we have an internet and no pool players anymore...

i wish you would yell this louder just one more time,,,,Please!!!!
This makes more sense than anything I have read here in recent history!!

Rodney is fast and loose....that's just his way. Good match. Nothing going on.

Nick
