for begginer in pool/billiards

PM me your address and I'll send you 3 FREE videos covering everything you'll need to become a good player. (you can research them at www.cjwiley.com) To become a "great" player requires volume 4 ;) ...just kiddin, hope you have the best of luck in whatever method you choose. Trust your "gut instincts," and do what's right for you and your own personal development.

I'm also a beginner level player (been playing the occasional game for decades, but now my wife wants to buy a table for the house) and have been researching videos and books. That was so nice of you to give away your vids that I bought your four DVD set. It just came in the mail today. I look forward to watching them, and if I still suck in six months, I now have someone to blame

Eric,

You've made a good investment.

Some of CJ's stuff is geared more to the intermediate level or above. So... don't get discouraged if they don't seem to work very well at first. The more you do them the better it will get because of YOUR subconscious getting use to it.

Best of Luck on the Journey,
Rick

Diddo on CJ's videos. Watch them and get some table time, then watch them again. Each time you watch his DVD's you get a few more pieces of the quest.

Wish we had a "before and after" video, it would difficult to believe

You've developed your game considerably this year, Rick, I'm glad to have been involved.

Wish we had a "before and after" video, it would difficult to believe you're the same guy........Happy Holidays to You and Yours....ttys.

The Ghost Drill App for Android

Hi guys. Playing the ghost is a good way to measure your offensive game. I made an android app for the ghost drill. It's not exactly playing a set against the ghost, but keeping score to see how many balls you run per rack and over the course of 10 racks of 9 ball. The rating system is derived from Dr. Dave's ranking. It's my first android app, but one of several that I want to make because I love pool! Please let me know any suggestions, bugs, etc. Thank you!

So, ya if you want to be just a good player, don't listen to me, but if you want to be a great player, my methodology is the best.

duckie's methodology is just that... his own methodology for pocketing balls.

1) Look at contact patch.. best if you wet your finger to mark the patch spot on the table.
2) Hit the contact point.... best if you roll the CB over the contact patch with no side spin.
3) Don't worry about CB position... duckie's methodology always finds the contact patch.

Methodology or the facts... don't confuse duckie with facts... duckie's mind is made up.

im a begginer in this game,i just want to ask and know which should i fucos to be good player,is it in aimin..stance grip or have a straight stroke from that which of this you master first in playing. thanks
A lot of good advice in this thread.

About your stroke, find a comfortable position which allows you to have a nice pendulum swing without side wobble. Be mindful about your grip: keep it light. When I didn't have a table at home, I spent a lot time just swinging my arm and cue bent over the dinning room table: when it feels right, it's right.

Then, find your vision center. In shooting stance, if you find yourself making adjustments because your cue doesn't seem to line up with the intended cue ball trajectory, stop doing that! Visualize when standing behind the shot, bend down while looking at both CB and OB - and the target pocket (i.e. the whole shot), but with focus on OB. Then, shoot straight!

Learn to trust your alignment and stroke. Set up a reasonable what-should-be high percentage shot, and try pulling the trigger with your eyes closed.

Good luck!

To move from beginner to intermediate and beyond, The 99 Critical Shots in Pool, by Ray Martin/Rosser Reeves.

I will forever cherish the (in)valuable information I found in this book.

Yes, this is my first post on AZB... But this is not the first thread I read... More to come. Glad to be here.

you can improve every day the rest of your life IF you have the correct foundation

Thanks, the great thing about pool is you can improve every day the rest of your life IF you have the correct foundation to build on.
