For Cicero Murphy Fan or Collector

To further that point, we haven't resolved whether is name is correctly spelled Cicero or not. I seems fundamentally important that we spell a man's name correctly. The above magazines spell it Cicero, but that conflicts with the BCA's spelling of his name on the HoF (Cisero). I am tending to believe Jet & Ebony would get it right..

This a good question on his name. Maybe Scott , Blackjack, or MrLucky7 can answer the question.

I think the relative he has on here (was it lucky? his nephew) confirmed it was Cisero for sure. I think jam did the wikipedia writeup and researched the spelling and it's Cisero there too.

Thanks for the links billiardshot! Good reading.

His name was James Murphy. I have heard many different stories regarding where the "Cisero" moniker came from. One story I heard was that the name was given to him by James Evans, and it stuck. I can't verify that story, but it makes sense to me.
