Ending this Sunday evening 6/20, I'm auctioning off my brand new 2010 custom Ginacue Domino Pool Cue. My guarantee is simple, 100% satisfaction or return for complete refund. If the buyer feels that their dissatisfaction is due to a misdescribed auction, I refund all the postage as well.

This cue is being auctioned with no reserve price. The high bidder will win the cue. This auction won't disappear suddenly. I don't end auctions early. I don't have items for sale locally. This auction will run to the end. Interested buyers will all have an equal chance to bid and win the auction.

Please let me know if I can be of assistance.

Thanks

Kevin

This auction is off to a good start.

Ernie and my friend Dan and I were horsing around in his shop and talking about guys making "tribute" cues and cases and such. Ernie has been making cues for almost 50 years, has been famous almost that entire time, and of course has been tributed and copied plenty in that time. Suffice it to say, without putting words in his mouth, Ernie is certainly in the best position to tribute his own historical cues.

He made this cue as a tribute to one of his original models, a cue he built from the early 1960s from Titlist blanks, which became known as a Ginacue Domino. The auction shows a picture of an original Domino example (one of his first 75 cues made) and his original "catalog" where a Domino is displayed.

The 2010 model is made by Ernie as a 4 point cue (which is rare for him) to mimic the original Titlist with veneers that somewhat closely match the original Titlist veneers. Being Ernie, he, of course, spiced up the veneers and the prong wood (using some wild cocobolo) and made some fabulous matching rings. The original Dominos had black phenolic butts, the new one is a great piece of ebony. Give Ernie the choice of what joint he is going to use and it is always ivory. An interesting thing, I was asking him how in the world he was going to duplicate the aluminum rings in the butt and he just went and opened a drawer and yanked out some left over original rings from the 1960s.

For the first time since I can think of, I don't have any cues on order from Ernie. He's being a little sketchy about completion dates for his next batch of cues. I believe he is going to be attending the ICCS this year as an exhibitor and I would imagine he will want to show up with a monster or two and after that he really has to get started on his 50th Anniversary edition (can you imagine?), so it might be a little while before we see any new cues out of Ernie.

Thanks

Kevin

Nice cue...

Kevin, I love it. Hey, give me a credit for the Domino that I have at Ernie's Shop getting refinished and I'll bid to win this one! Just food for thought...

Come on Kevin...

Kevin, Throw a brother a bone. Give my above offer some thought...
Just kidding, but not really, give that offer some thought. You get one of his first 100, possibly 50 cues in better condition than it was when it was first made with a pair of new shafts and all!!! Man what a great salesman I am. Even I'm convinced its a great deal:D

Sorry I somehow missed these 2 opportunities to bump my own thread (that will never happen again).

I'm no trader. If you'd like to suggest a credit value on your old Domino please do (my assessment would be hampered by by knowledge of what you are going to be in the finished product and my reluctance to ever suggest that anybody take a loss). However, I'm way more inclined to say what would guaranteed work out for us best it you bid all the money for this cue, win it, get it, love it, and I'll pick your your Domino when Ernie is done with it, I'll put it on eBay, it will cause a big stir, go nuts, and the high bid will fall somewhere just (relatively) short of a million bucks, I'll take my teeny tiny nominal consignment fee and everybody will be happy.

Thanks

Kevin

Bump

The guy who bought the other Ernie tribute to himself cue last week has received his cue and posted feedback in my eBay profile.

This one ends tomorrow.

Thanks

2 Hour Notice

This auction ends in a little less than 2 hours.

The cue is currently at $2,710, hopefully there's a little action left.

Anybody care to hazard an over/under number (I'll take the over) ?

Thanks

Kevin

However it ends, I would bet it is going to go higher!

I'm hoping you have inside information because I'm always happy to see you bidding and I'm sure you've got a domino or two this would look good next to.

I loved you sharing in gallery.

Thanks

Kevin,

I liked the cue a lot. As you may know, I have a domino or two, so wasn`t going to bid. But I wasn`t going to watch it go away quite as low as the bid was several hours ago.

At least I participated in getting it up a coupla hundred. Someone walked away with a real nice cue for the money.

.......Still got room for another 8-pointer Tad..................

Take care,

Will

I saw your bid, thanks so much. I appreciate the hit as every little bit helps. I'm glad to hear you still have some room in that stuffed to capacity vault as I'm always looking.

Thanks again

Kevin
