Ending this Sunday evening 3/20, I'm auctioning off a great 1st Catalog TAD Kohara Pool Cue. I think the cue is described OK in the auction, but please let me know if there's something I can clarify. I can't mention ivory on eBay so the description doesn't mention that the ferrule on this straight, old wood TAD shaft is ivory.

My guarantee is simple, 100% satisfaction or return for complete refund. If the buyer feels that their dissatisfaction is due to a misdescribed auction, I refund all the postage as well.

This cue is being auctioned with no reserve price. The high bidder will win the cue. This auction won't disappear suddenly. I don't end auctions early. I don't have items for sale locally. This auction will run to the end. Interested buyers will all have an equal chance to bid and win the auction.

Please let me know if I can be of assistance.

Good luck and thanks for looking,

Kevin

Nice old TAD Kevin. Someone will get a neat cue. g.l.

Thanks Bob. I'll see what we can do. Just so you know I don't know if its a function of balance or forward weighting (Tad's shafts are heavy and I'm used to ivory jointed cues) but this cue feels lighter than it weighs, if that makes sense.

Thanks again

Kevin

This Tad is pre-logo and pre-serial number (beneath the bumper). Tad looked at the joint pin and knew there would be no number under the bumper.
Perhaps on of the Tad experts could get closer to the year built than my late 60s - early 70s designation.

Also, I can be wrong here, but I believed Tad achieved the dark hue to the cue, not by a dark stain, but rather he heated and singed the wood (or the stain I forget which). Its a nice effect. This cue has excellent old straight dense Tad shaft wood and a great piece of very highly figured bird's eye on the butt.

Thanks again

Kevin

1970-1975, great cue. For those that don't know, TAD torched the wood to get it stained that color. It is not dyed. Its very unique. It must hit awesome!

It does hit awesome. I think we've talked about it before and I know you believe in the TAD hit. I sell a lot of cues and I never rave about how the cue I'm selling hits. To me that seems way subjective, but, the only cue I ever had that I really thought made me a better player was a TAD. This cue has a (only one unfortunately) dead straight 35+ plus year old 4 1/8 ounce TAD shaft and it really does have that old TAD feel and hit. Ernie had the bumber off and spun the butt in the lathe and actually gave respect because that baby spun straight after all those years.

Great cue. Thanks for chiming in.

And I look forward to finding a cue that you like and want. The first cue you and I did together was about as much fun as I've ever had on eBay and that week introduced me to AZ, which is a great and fun place.

I am bummed that you would have been a bidder as you generally do bid to win. I would have sent you a message when I listed this cue, but sometimes I wince when I think of how much stuff you probably get pitched and figure you sort of like to find your buys on your own. When you didn't post on this thread I figured either:

a) You already had 12 model 4s

or

b) You were interested and were playing it coy

I hoped, of course, it was b.

Its my fault of course. When the auctioneers in California get a hold of something they figure I would bid on (how is it that in all my years of doing this I have NEVER seen a custom cue go through an estate auction??) they always call me and I always appreciate it and you've never made me feel like I'm bugging you.

I hope you all are happy and healthy over there in Will Land.

Thanks

Kevin
