I'm asking in this question in the Cue Gallery - well, because we discuss cues here.
I tried out my new Southwest cue the other night and really love it. At a bit over 20 oz's it is a little heavy - but I actually think I can easily get used to that.
Funny - I actually got into a one handed one pocket match, and used the Southwest for that. I saw a few friends of mine gasp in horror as I would sometimes slide it on the rail back and forth for a particular shot....guess they were scared I would ding it. I told them, this was for USE - and if it gets dinged it can always be refinished. I ran 7 with her one-handed at one point. Not too shabby for the first night using this cue.
The shaft is nice and stiff - and the tip feels pretty good. That brings me to question number one.
1. What kind of tip comes stock on the Southwest? I'm guessing it might be a triangle? It feels good but I'm so used to a Moori I might switch. Not 100% sure.
2. What is your favorite taper? Martin (Jazznpool) and Lauri Franklin told me that they also offer the pro taper shaft, and the standard pro taper. I'm considering ordering a third shaft with one of these tapers to test it out. Any suggestions?
