I got a call tonight informing me that the party formerly known as the Inside Pool party, is still going to happen. The guy that has put this party on for yrs will once again be putting it together. The only difference is that it is not sponsored by Inside Pool this yr.

The same liquor, beer, everything... As those of you that have been there in the past know, the booze is free of charge. This year I urge those of you that attend to please make a donation ($10 or $20) a night for each night that you go. (or however much you can afford to donate) The drinkers in the crowd know that it would cost much more than that to go to the club & drink.

My hope is that Eric can come close to breaking even and will agree to have the party in the following years to come. VF just wouldn't be the same without the party IMO.

Does everyone get naked?
 
There will be two differences this year. I believe he said the party will be Thur, Fri, & Sat. and it's also going to be in a suite on the 13th floor instead of the 14th floor. The ususal suite on the 14th floor is already taken by someone so they had to go one floor down. (Still at the Radisson)

Once I get a for sure confirmation on the nights that he's having the party, I'll post them here.
 
Is the party going to start on time or be late just like most people's subscriptions to IP.

Historically speaking, hotels generally do not have a 13th floor.

Eric is crazy, hardly ever sleeps and makes drinks that contain nothing but alcohol!! People don't necessarily get naked there (except for one girl showing her boobies) but I am sure the party has lead to some naked expeditions afterwards.
 
I will be there.

Eric (Jeeves) is a great guy and puts on a great Party. You name the drink and he will have it, but NEVER ask him for a double...trust me on this. I think $10 per night per person is more than fair and based on the amount of alcohol he normally brings and that normally gets consumed, I would guess that he will still lose money.....but it will be fun :-)
 
I think they SHOULD charge but make allowances for people that help further the industry's success.

Since IP is NOT throwing the party and Eric is, it should start on time..:p

Nope, besides a local tournament the next national event I will be at is the BCA in V E G A S in May. Ten days in Vegas, I could even really careless that pool is going on but it is always a good excuse to go. I assume Bob will be moving up to the Master's division this year. Hope to see you there.

Legally, he can't charge... starts getting into that whole liquor & beer liscense things. :rolleyes:

Obvioulsy $10 isn't going to pay the bills in full but every little bit will help. There are some people better off financially than others. I've got a few friends that have already said they would make a generous donation towards the party. There's others that don't really have the expendable income. No one has to donate, I'm just trying to help him out and ask that people do donate whatever they can. ;)

I saw LarryNJ1 hide in the other room for the whole night when I told him who I was, LOL seems his balls are only large on the internet (like most I guess) only sad part was all I was going to do ws break his balls a bit. Must be tough to live life scared that the words you write may some day catch up with you.

Are you still having the private gathering on Thur?

The party will be Fri & Sat from 11pm to?? Is that correct?
 
l spent the last year trying to understand why a friend would screw another friend. But JR did. Even when I learned the truth before last year I trusted my heart and soul that he and his business would not pull all monetary support. I have always put in a enormous excess of time and effort with this event. The hotel and its staff treat me as one of there own for that week and many other time during the year. The party will again be watched by a member of the hotels' staff and I will pass out wrist bands as well these to things provide a restriction to the amount of peolpe each night and with the event being on floor below where it has been the last 5 years the noise may become a factor. Eric, thanks for continuing to have the party even without a sponsor. I speak for many when I say that party is a huge part in what makes VF so much fun!

When we talked on the phone you had mentioned Thur as being for ACA only... is that still the plan with everyone else being welcome on Fri & Sat or have you changed your mind and decided to have everyone one up all 3 days?
