I have no trouble accessing the forums from work, but cannot get it to work from home. The AZ Billiards banner at the top comes up along with the buttons underneath but the rest of the home page does not load. The only buttons that work are the Marketplace and Links buttons. This seems to have started when AZB switched to the new servers. Is anyone else having trouble or is there a thread that I missed? Thanks.

I have 2 other users who are reporting problems. One of them has already cleared his dns cache and it doesn't seem to be helping.

I am really at a loss here as to what is happening.

What ISP are you using to connect at the house? The issue likely lies with the actual routing path between you and the new datacenter the server is hosted at. I'd recommend submitting a traceroute here. If you don't know how to do so, you will simply go to "Start -> Run" in Windows and type "cmd" and hit enter. A command prompt will open and you can run a traceroute like so (i.e. "tracert someaddressordomain.com" without the quotes :

Without accurate traceroute information from several people in different locations it's hard to put an accurate diagnosis, but I would definately say that the gigabit link on hop number 11 (ge-1-0-0-1000m.core-01.phx1.puregig.net) is having latency/link saturation issues. Standby I'll get some more data.

I suggest

that they try it with a different browser than what they usually use to load AZB, and see if it still persists.

Netscape 8.1 is available for free download by seearching on Netscape browser. or go to http://www.netscape.com for a link to the download.

Also, when going to the front page, if you right clcik your mouse,
you can display the website under another available browser format, such as Firefox or Internet Explorer. This helps also.

I had trouble displaying Cuetable layouts within AZB till I switched it to display as FireFox.

DNS caching is not the issue here.

The actual VLAN/router in front of the server is dropping packets at a nearly 50% rate :

Code:
                                            My traceroute [v0.69]

It's likely the result of either a distributed denial of service attack, or one of their BGP routes or carrier uplinks has been disrupted and routes are reconverging.

Yup, looks like their switch is getting totally raped and dropping a large number of packets. Simple investigation would indicate that this is a Cisco TACACS based Switch and is likely just oversaturated :

Code:

More specifically, the switch at hand is a Cisco Catalyst 3550 which is End of life.

Just call your provider and let them know and find out what's up.

The Firefox browser is the best of all. It is the safest browser I have found and it's free: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/

It will get those hard to get pages that you want :)
I agree, but the problem here isn't what browser you're using. It's sheer connectivity at the transit link in the datacenter. Whether it's caused by a Denial of Service attack, a downed router, downed transit link, or reconverging BGP (border gateway protocol) routes as a result of any of the aforementioned possible causes.

I can't access AZB at home. The browser is the same as at work (where AZB works fine) - MS Internet Explorer.

My service provider at home is Insight Cable; I wonder if it is their problem??? Is this the same provider that eales has???

Can you provide the output of a traceroute as I have done above to see what hops your machine is trying to take and where the network path is dying?

IE wouldn't work for me either using Road Runner. I was getting the same DNS, but FireFox works great.

Well, with a loss rate of around 40-50% you're going to get there about 1 out of 2 times ;)

Keep hitting refresh, it's not the server itself, just somewhere in between. Since no one has posted traceroutes from other locations I'm just tossing pennies into a bottomless bucket here.

What's funny is the IP address of the forum is 209.50.54.136

But punch that into your browser window and it takes you to DIeBob.com

for what it's worth

I am using insight cable as my ISP at home & Internet Explorer. It has never been an issue in the past.

I tried the Firefox browser last night at home - did NOT work.

Any other possible solutions; otherwise my AZB days are numbered.

finally figured out how to do the trace...

I still can't access AZB from home. The program comparable to traceroute is tracert in my version of xp. Here is an output from
