Foul????

I just finished reading a thread about 'laying spreads" "lemons' and such. And about league or tournament players learning to cheat and sandbag. Not new- but interesting reading-like the man said we're all attracted to "car wrecks".

MY QUESTION: DO YOU CALL FOULS ON YOUR SELF? No/Yes/Maybe/depends on.... /No rule says I have to/they should be paying attention, therefore it didn't really happen/ if you thot it was going to be a foul-you should have had somebody watchit?/ but you hit it anyway?

You get the point - what place does honesty have in playing pool?/ or is it different when you are gambling/in league/ tournament? Do we check our morals at the door of the pool hall?

maybe I shouldn't think of or ask such a question on EASTER. I've had too much sugar today.

ps: this is not a test-answers are not graded -by me:confused:

Do I call fouls on myself? Yes. And I don't do it for the other guy, I do it for me. I don't play in leagues but I've done it in tournaments and gambling. And will continue to do so.

I call fouls on myself, just because i feel bad if i beat someone just because i cheated. I play pool for myself, not for someone else, and the least I can do is be truthful to myself.

I usually won't call a foul on myself, because its the responsibility of the opponent to pay attention in the absence of a referee. However, if questioned, I will always be honest if asked about a questionable hit. Always.

Sometimes

If I'm playing a game with friends I do.

If it's a tournament or league....nope.

If you ask me I'll tell you the truth , or what I think is the truth.

If you don't ask , too bad. Pay attention!

tap, tap, tap! Well said...I live my life the same way, on or off the pool table. The day I have to win a game by cheating, will be the day I hang my cue up for good!

That's just lame. You can pay as much attention you want, I can make fouls that you can't see. For example, a lot of double hit can't visible been seen. Do you want your opponent hangsover the table to watch you shoot? Or ask you on every shot if you are making a foul?

Calling fouls on yourself is absolutely the only way to play any game, win or loose you always leave the game with your integrity in place and your head held high. A lesson from my Dad when I was very young that I am proud to say I still adhere too. For you that know Scott Lee then you know he is a class act and I tribute to the game we all have a passion for.

Rep to mr Scott Lee!

A big one! It should be a game for genlemen. Without refs that is neccesery.
