No, that was an el cheapo.

BTW, did you know the cue Michael Douglas uses (and throws on the table :-o) in "The American President" was a Gina?

Wheeew lol...was gonna say who in their right mind could be that mad at their money.

It would be interesting to know what cues have been in movies over the years. I know there are long lists of firearms of all types that are/were used on screen over the years and I assume no one has ever put together a cue list. It might be a short list but other than the Color of Money Joss, you dont hear about to many...if any at all

Stake - I wonder what cues both Eddie and Fats used in The Hustler? I'm guessing Bushkas? Or maybe Rambows, since GB had basically just started a few years before ( 59? ).

The original was nothing but an Adam, with FAS stamped on the butt. Whether the Centennials came with it or not, who knows. If so, the Centennials may be worth more than the cue. Someone seems to think this sold for 10 grand.

PT Barnum was correct. So was Darwin.

All the best,
WW

Rambow cues were used in the Hustler. Both Hoppe and larger ivory buttplate style, depending on the scene. Also, The Hustler was released in 1961. A bit early for Bushkas. How long have you been around?

All the best,

Thanks, WW.

If you mean by "been around", how long have I been playing pool, I hit my first ball in the summer of 1960 at the bowling alley. I started going in the pool room and thus taking pool more seriously in the early summer of 67. I joined AzB in 08 or 09, wasn't here for a while, forgot my password and couldn't get back in so registered again in 13. Just started posting @ a month or so ago. I retired in April of 16 so I now have ungodly amounts of free time.

Love Rambows. used to have one many moons ago. Thanks again for the info.

Also, I think I ether pm'd you or posted something in a thread about the Palmer ( in the center ) you have in your avatar. I had the same cue in the mid 70s, except mine was ordered from Palmer with a black leather wrap and the little stripe above the butt cap was green on mine, not red. Great cue. Had it for several years.

A guy walked up to the front desk at Hollywood Billiards, the new HB and asked if anybody wanted to buy a cue.

My buddy was there and he said I'll take a look and it was the Peter Lawford cue. I think he paid $1,400 dollars for it. I checked it out it had martini glasses between the wrap and the butt.

He was a friend of Ernie's and had him refinish it. What happened after that I don't know. I heard he sold it after falling on hard times.

The two sets of 1970s Centennial balls came with it and one set has never been taken out of the shipping wrap.

Found this in the same auction and found it quite amusing 😊. Probably would've bid a little something on it if it had not already gone off. Even Frankie knew how to properly get down lololol😊

Actually, it's a little creepy. He died three weeks later.

Yeah...

I know he had cancer and dementia.

I do wonder what the nature of this pain was...
