this table was a wreck.....if i went to far into detail i would be typing all day..weird frame design and build...seems they started building a 1 pc slate frame and when they realized it was extremely heavy to move and install in a basement or any where in a home...they used a 3 pc slate with a 1 pc frame it seems...there was no screws in the ends of the slates, there was slate screw holes in slate but no frame support to screw into..table has been where it is now and has not been recover or worked on till now..table was purchased in late 60's to early 70's...

seeing 1 fredwick willys is to many and ive seen a few. I would bet from the pics of the table that it was a nonslate willys with a 1 piece particle board bed and it was transformed into a slate bed. Did it have knobs under the cross beams that you could turn in and out?

table

No knobs..the frame has the build to support slate.."Kinda". Lol

I'm surprised the owner invested the money on having new cushions and cloth installed on that table.

The top rails bolt down on the sub-rails holding them in place with a kind of pinching effect. Brunswick made their first coin-operated pool tables on this design. Yes, it was designed for an undersized 7/8" thick 8ft slate, playing surface should have been 44 x 88. Brunswick notched out the sub-rail base liner in three places which allowed the rail bolts to be placed closer to the cushions to get a better clamping down of the rail cap over the top of the extended sub-rail base that fit under the rail cap.

Now I know why you couldn't find the rail bolts to unbolt the top rails....LOL...there are none:D

table

I gave him his options...table was purchased new by his dad and installed when the customer was a little kid...now he has the home and wants to keep the table

It is a sturdy table now. prob won't get much play. I hit a few balls with him when I was done and Im beting table plays better now than when it was new..
