Free Live Stream 4/9/2013 Big Foot Match Earl vs SVB

In today's era of social media, can't we even get a play-by-play via Twitter or something when the stream is down???

Shane is sitting quietly...Earl is examining the rack with a magnifying glass to make sure they are frozen...

Oh wait, that was last time for the TAR stream.

I don't have a stream, just a series of stills.

I have a mac. Tried Safari and Firefox.

Speed test shows 2.2M download.

For a check, I watched a bit of the Efren vs Earl Hong Kong challenge match on youtube, it plays fine.

Good match. Fun to watch. Thanks to everyone involved for streaming this. Both of them stumbled a little at the end, but still a great finish.

Did anyone else complain they couldn't see the stream? The commercials played fine but when they ended and it went to the stream, all I saw was still pictures.

I clicked on the ustream support link and could watch their videos of how to be a streamer. For another check, I watched the youtube match of Efren and Earl in Hong Kong no problem, but no stream for me last night.

The stream was very erratic and low quality. It went out a few times and I don't remember the commentators mentioning anything when it got back on about any problems or issues.

I tried watching the stream from the SBE last weekend but the "spinning ball" on my computer kept popping up, so last night I just figured it was something wrong on my end.

Steinway Billiards has been known to have bandwidth issues at times. Last week InsidePool/NYCGRIND streamed a scotch doubles match from Steinway with Earl/Daz vs Hatch/Archer and it went over w/no issues. The Free SBE stream was great with no issues. JohnnyP you have some issue with your MAC or browser setting because the SBE stream was fine and lots of people can confirm this. I saw you had another thread/posting on this issue. It worked fine on my Ipad and my Macbook Pro. Last night was problematic no question. As Justin from TAR said not long ago(paraphrasing), "I can't control the internet/bandwidth."

InsidePool has done numerous free streams and they go great as long as the bandwidth is up to the task.

I have 1GB RAM. Probably need more.

As a check, I watched part of the Efren vs Earl Hong Kong Challenge match on youtube, it played fine.

Mac has a utility called "activity monitor". It showed 500M free RAM watching youtube, less than 25M trying to watch the stream.

I can't say for sure if you had issues due to insufficient ram. Fortunately ram is cheap and you would be doing yourself a kindness increasing from the 1 GB you currently have as that is an extremely low amount by today's standards. You can get system specific memory for your Mac here or at least find out what type you need and get a price quote.

Apple will be glad to sell you more memory as well. I used the web browser Chrome to view the stream on my Mac Book Pro. I prefer it to Safari.

Thanks for the reply. I just ordered 2-2GB cards from OWC. About $74 including FedEx 2 day.

I have searched quite a bit on "my mac runs slow" etc, most links are shills for mackeeper.

I downloaded the free trial version of it and let it run the scan. It listed several severe issues (in red) that to fix I have to send them $120 or something like that.

I need to search my computer and remove all mackeeper files.

Ustream was having issues all day yesterday. Ran into streams where the streamer wasn't able to chat with the viewers because they were getting a blank screen. Other streams were up and down as well. That may have contributed to some of the down time.
