Free metal lathe, must pick up.

You think you could help me load it in my truck or should I bring a someone with me :D

A friend of mine used in the shipyards in Norfolk, he said he used to run lathes so big there was a chair on the carriage so you could ride from one end of the part to the other.
 
You might be able to do joint work on it, but I don't think you have enough room between centers to do any tapering work.
 
Hi,

On ships with Huge shafts they never stop rotating them even when they are in port.

When they are not running the engine or making steam the shafts are switched over to what they call a turning gear the keep them turning very slow like 1 revolution per hour so the shaft does not have a chance to sit in one position and sag or distort.
