Some of my accomplishments:

1964./ Beat 'Minnesota Fats' (Rudolph Wanderone) an exhibition match of 8 Ball and 9 Ball at the Carefree Theater in West Palm Beach, Fl., I was 17 years old.

1970./ Forfeited the 1st round in all three divisions, 9 ball, straight pool, and 1 pocket, in the 3 week world tournament at the Stardust Hotel, Las Vegas, NV.,
won 11 in a row, 9 in a row, 9 in a row respectively, finishing 4th in the 1 pocket, 4th in the straight pool and 2nd in the 9 ball, losing 11/9 to
Luther Lassiter in the finals.
This was year in year out considered to be the number 1 tournament in the USA.

1972./ Forfeited the finals of the 1 pocket championship to Larry 'Boston Shorty' Johnson and forfeited the finals of the 9 ball championship to Jimmy Fusco,
finishing honorary 2nd in both. This was the last Johnston City Tournament and the only round robin (you played everybody) tournament
of this kind ever held, after 3 weeks yours truly was top of the board in both divisions when the tournament was raided by the FBI,
the motion picture 'THE BALTIMORE BULLET' was based on what actually happened to me at this event.
This was year in year out considered to be the second most prestigious tournament in America.

1974./ Southwestern Open 9 Ball Champion! I gave to the entire field a handicap, the call 8 ball to be precise and won anyway.
To my knowledge this is the only time that this has ever happened in history.

1977./ World Convention 9 Ball Champion, Joe Farhat's Billiards in Lansing Michigan.

1979./ BCA National 8 Ball Champion, Over 4,300 Entries, Largest Field Ever At That Time!

1980./ World Classic 8 Ball Champiion $25,000 1st. Largest Purse Ever At That Time!

1983./ Runner Up At The Largest 9 BallTournament Of The Year ($15,000 1st - $7,000 2nd), Caesar's Palace "Last Call For 9 Ball",
As Shown On ESPN, I Should've Won It But Received A Very Bad Call From The Referee That Turned The Match Around.

However, I Did Receive An Additional $1000 For Running The Most Racks During The Tournament,
8 Racks Against David (the giant killer) Howard.

1985./ US OPEN 9 BALL CHAMPION, Shooting the highest accu-stat score of the entire tournament in the finals!

1988./ 'King of The Ring' 9 BALL CHAMPION, THE TOP 12 PLAYERS IN THE WORLD INVITATIONAL, AS SEEN ON ESPN!
Running 8 racks my first inning in the finals, Nick Varner 2nd!

1992 and 1993./ BACK TO BACK CHAMPION of the Annual European Open 8 Ball Championship!

1992 and 1993./ Winner of 6 EUROPEAN OPEN 9 BALL CHAMPIONSHIPS!

1994 - 2004./ Family comes first! Acted as sole care provider for my disabled father (WWII Hero) and stepmother,
went to a few tournaments during these years but didn't focus much on pool.

2003./ 5th. Place, the BCA Invitational 9 Ball Championship, Riviera Hotel, Las Vegas, NV.

2003./ 5th Place, highest placing American player at the only US stop for the International Billiard Congress 9 Ball Championships.

2005./ Won the last 2 tournaments I competed in at the Dixie Classic;
Their largest bar table 9 ball mini including buying all of myself in the substantial player auction.
The annual single elimination, regulation table, 1 pocket mini tournament, the same race as the major event only limited to 64 players,
both events are held annually at Greg Sullivan's Dixie Classic, the most popular tournament in the USA.

Accolades from my peers;
"In 1994 at the men's pro billiards tour, 'Lexington All Star 9 Ball Championship' on the last night before the finals, unbeknownst to me,
at the urging of the audience a large group of my peers had gotten together to vote on who they thought was the best money player.
Almost all of the top ranked pool players over the previous 5 to 25 years were there, Johnny Archer, Francesco Bustamante, Wade Crane,
Kim Davenport, Roger Griffis, Buddy Hall, Allen Hopkins, Bob Ogburn, Efren Reyes, Mike Sigel, Earl Strickland, Nick Varner, and C. J. Wiley,
just to name a few, Without a doubt they were a group of the best and most respected pocket billiard players in the world.
They voted yours truly, Jimmy Reid, "The Best Money Player In The World For The Previous 25 Years, From 1969 - 1994."
Buddy Hall Said To Me The Next Day, 'That's Over A Quarter Of A century Man'
"Of All Things, This I Am Most Proud" Jimmy Reid

"IN 2008 IT WAS MY PRIVILEGE TO BE 1 OF ONLY 4 PLAYERS EVER INDUCTED INTO;
'A LIFETIME OF POOL IN ACTION' HALL OF FAME, PRESENTED AND HOSTED BY GREG SULLIVAN, FOUNDER AND
TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR/PROMOTER OF THE VERY POPULAR DIXIE CLASSIC POOL TOURNAMENT.

AT THE SAME TIME AND CEREMONIES, ONE POCKET.ORG HOSTED BY STEVE BOOTH
HONORED ME FURTHER WITH AN INDUCTION INTO THE 2008 'ONE POCKET HALL OF FAME'."

I've heard people say Luther Lassiter was the best 9 ball player of his era.

You played him, your opinion?

For those who don't already know it...(both of you) Jimmy's No Time For Negative and "Almost All I Know" are true classics.

I can't imagine even pretty speedy players not learning some IMPORTANT stuff from them. And for "A" and lower speeds, they are a no-brainer purchase.

I was lucky enough to be introduced to Jimmy at JOB's in Nashville several years ago. We played a few games for fun but without me asking, Jimmy turned the games into full blown lessons....FOR FREE.

THANKS Jimmy!
