ups

I've lost packages with ups and it is hard to get your money. They have even had a neighbor for my customer sign for it and then he kept it.
Although ups does move a lot of usps packages for them I still will only use usps.
Even the dogs in the neighbor hood don't like the ups brown guy or his truck.

I sent out a cue and insured it for a $1000.00 through USPS, then requested a signature upon delivery. The post office worker told me,"That anything insured for $500.00 or more, requires a signature" . As far as to Bob, I've had dealings with him, and he is a stand up guy.....Charlie D

Thanks Charlie, It's good to know that with $500. and up USPS requires a signiture. That will be my minimum policy from now on. As for obe1, he started posting early this morning without ever talking to me. That's not the way we do things hopefully. What do you fellow AZers think about this thread being started like this? Kind of immature me thinks!

According to obe1 the package was insured for $300.00 even though it was sold for $100.oo to me. I never saw the package or driver to give a signature to. We were notified monday of a death in the family and was at the wake tuesday but looked for the package both days but didn't have time to contact him until yesterday evening. I don't know what to think of all this.If it is infered that i have done anything wrong again somebody with one trader rating (given to them by me) might turn bright red. Bob

thats funny bob..you told me and my wife this morning when we talked you were at the doctors with your wife when the driver delivered the package. i emailed you on monday morning of the delivery to let you know it is on the way and you replied right back you will watch for it.i have all the emails bob if you need to refresh your story.

and the sale was for 100 trade value for one of the 60 cues you said you had.150 for no trade...

man you are a piece of work bob..

I AM THE DUMD ASS THAT DID NOT GET A SIGNATURE REQUIRED FROM UPS.THAT IS THE BOTTOM LINE.....END OF STORY .

I always ship usps. and if it's over $100 , I always insure it and a delivery confirmation and signature always for cue's ,, it is worth the couple bucks to do so just for this same situation. Sorry guy's .. I had the same thing happen years ago and UPS. did a investigation and after me raising hell everyday for two weeks and going to their office, they sent a investigator out and he went house to house asking nocking on doors .. and leaving letters and handing papers to everyone on my block , about theft. Well guess what my package turned up on my back door step a couple days later. Yes on my back door step, I beleive the neighbor kid got or stole my cue from my porch and after the investigator went around the parents busted him with it and made him put it up at my house. It ended up I called the police and they Went to his house but no one would admitt to nothing. But this kid seen so may times over the years me getting cue packages in the mail and he knows im into pool and billiards from everyone in town. Now it's been a couple years and I dont know the truth for sure , but it just shows you there are theives among us !!!<<ED

I never told your wife anything. I told you i was at the Health Dept. with my wife Monday when the package was delivered. I had gotten the bad news Monday morning and the wake was Tuesday. You told me that you insured the package for $300.00. I am still here, i have not gone anywhere. You jumped the gun with this DUMB thread. Bob

I am the one that the package was delivered to. UPS said that the driver delivered the package to the front door and left it on the porch. I have never seen the package. I won't let Richard be at a loss on this even if i absorb all costs myself. I am only interested in keeping anyone that i deal with protected from a loss and keep my name spotless as it always has been. I think that a signiture should be required so as to eliminate the possibility of something like this happening. By the way GOOD MORNING!!
Bob

That's sick! a buddy of mine said he ordered a lap top and ups did the same thing to him. even though he specifically asked them not to leave it on his porch they did. if the package was insured i think you should both be ok.

if they insured it they should get a signature.

I just spoke to UPS AGAIN to try to find out if the normal driver was working on monday 11/16/2009 or possibly a substitute driver. They said that they are investigating the driver and trying to locate the package. As i said before, I will not let Richard lose if it comes down to UPS not satisfying this issue. Richard sent me the balls in good faith and should not lose. I will do whatever Richard obe1 thinks is fair. Well, let's see what Unreliable Package Service does to remedy the situation.

I just thought of this. The balls were delivered to my front door at 2:58p.m. monday 11/16/2009. I left to take my wife to the adult day care at the health dept. at 9:00a.m. and was back at the house before 10:00a.m. I stayed there until 2:15 when i normally leave to pick her up and come back home. We were back home before 3:30 and stayed until 8;50p.m. when i leave for work. I looked out front periodically and never saw any package. I thought that if i was not home when it was delivered the driver would put a sticker on the door saying that he tried to deliver and wil make a second attempt to deliver tomorrow. None of that was done. If the package was delivered at 2:58p.m. someone sure didn't have much time to see it and remove it from my porch. Something is fishy!

OK guys.....I am a UPS driver and have been for 15 years. I will try to explain anything I can here. As a driver we are taught to leave all packages at residents unless the sender request a signature. Keep in mind we have to leave it "out of sight and out of weather." As someone spoke of earlier USPS will get signatures on anything over $500. Our level is higher (not sure what it is exactly) but we are told in the morning which stops they are. We as drivers have no idea what's in a box or tube. The famous question i get a hundred times a day is "what is it?" I always have to say "I don't know, I didn't order it. To me it is just a box!" We have no idea if the package is worth $10 or $50,000 (which is the highest you can insure something through UPS). ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS get insurance and ask to make it a signature required! If you don't ask for insurance you are automatically insured up to $100 but that is it.

You will get your money back for the lost or stolen package. But UPS will flag your stop and you will always have to sign for every package now in the future. No more "driver releases at that address" will go in affect.

If you want to sign for your packages in the future and not have them left at you door then call UPS and tell them just that. They will put a block in our diad boards so we can't driver release them at your address anymore. This is for anyone out there.

I am not sure who you spoke with but call the 1-800-PICK-UPS number and have the tracking info and file a claim. It should not take to long to get your check for the insurance ammount.

I once sent 15 or so cues to a gentleman NEXT DAY AIR (by 10:30 am) up in the northeast. He was leaving the next day at 3pm to go to Vegas for a cue show and he wanted them for it. UPS delay the shipment for some reason and he didn't get them before he left. I complained enough that they went to his house got the package from his wife and shipped them to Las Vegas NEXT DAY AIR at their cost and refund me my money of something like $120 or so. I got my check in the mail within 2 weeks. And all of this happen without me telling them that I worked for them.

Again, I will try and anwser any questions you have.

Good luck on getting to a resolution.

Gary

Thanks Gary, I guess this thread was not so dumb after all. Also thanks to Charlie D. for the $500' insurance info' and everyone else who has given constructive opinions. To Richard obe1 don't worry be happy!
