Monica Webb and Helena Thornfeldt have chose to come here to let everyone know the way they feel about the Forums.They began to read forums because of the IPTsituation and they want to thank everyone for the insite and information that has been posted. They feel it has played a very active role in unifying the players.

They wanted to come make there presence and appreciation known.

They also want to share their feelings about the situation in a whole and more so the players.

They have been speaking with many players via telephone. 99% of the players. are on the same page and want you to know that the players at this time are more unified then ever before. They believe nothing short than a massive positive reaction will come because of this. The players are all coming together in ways that will do nothing but strengthen the sport as a whole.

Last but not least they want to express to the fans and the industry as a whole that the players are making the moves to make the best informed and effective decision. They feel as professional players they are in the forefront of industry. They also feel that with this comes the responsibility of making the decisions and educated themselve on how to move forward with the industry in mind.

Once again this is on the behalf on Monica Webb and Helena Thornfeldt. After many conversations with other professionals this is their feeling on what moves are being made.

Monica also wants you to know that she is registering and will be online in the forums in the next few days.
 
Sounds great. Maybe the one good thing that will come from the IPT is the players will realize it's time to create a players association like every other sport. The players have been getting hosed long enough, there's strength in numbers.

Also glad to hear Monica will be joining, hopefully more players will follow suit. This forum has been a great source of info and communication. It's like a gift from the pool gods.:)

a careful post

A careful post with nothing of substance except that the players are coming together and weighing options carefully. A very fine post in the light of the current situation.

The brutal truth is that the players are probably better off taking ten cents on the dollar than going the legal route. (the first third of the 1/3 payment which is all that I think they will ever see at best)

If the legal route is pursued, the question becomes does the IPT have property of enough value that after all expenses of the case, the players share of the proceeds will be greater than the money offered? How many other claimants are waiting in the wings? What is the players lost time and expenses while pursuing this case?

The other side of the coin is that if players settle then KT is likely to retain possession of the video footage. Can that possibly lessen some player's value in the future or some tour's or event's?

I hate to spread gloom and doom but as a businessman who has seen many a bankruptcy, it is a no win deal unless you can get behind the walls around the IPT. My bet is that KT is far less wealthy than imagined and that much of this wealth is well protected even if his wealth can be attached.

A medium sized city went bankrupt owing thousands to my business. For several years I got checks in the mail. It was always exciting to open the envelopes and see if the check was for five cents or ten. Once I even got a check for a quarter!! Never did I receive a check as large as the postage on the envelope.

I do wish you two and the rest of the players the best of fortune whatever route you decide to take.
