I think it's a nice looking cue...and from a great cuemaker. I've owned 4 BlueGrass cues over the last year or so....and each one was great.
I see a couple things going against the sale at the listed price. Mind you, this is just my opinion....but having gone through a couple cues, I feel like I might have a small clue as to what I'm talking about.
1st - It's a Bacote cue. I, personally, LOVE the looks of bacote. The grain detail in a nice piece of it is awesome. I had a Coker with the best piece of bacote I've ever seen....and loved it for everything it was. I still regret selling it. There are quite a few, though, who don't like that particular wood. It's got a much smaller "fan base" than maple or cocobola. To each their own...but those who are looking for a nice BG cue might be put off by the wood this one is made from.
2nd - The market sucks, as we're all aware. I can't believe how many cues have been on the boards for as long as they have been...with no action at all. The ones that have sold recently (minus a couple given exceptions) have taken more time to sell than they would have a year ago. I know that summer/fall sales drop off a fair amount....but this year seems to be worse, on the whole, than the last couple years. That, to me, ties directly into why this cue hasn't sold to a bacote fan by now. Each of the BG cues I sold went for different amounts. I've gotten as high as 1150, and as low as 850. There's no rhyme or reason to it, since Mr. Harris builds a cue that seems to play equally well, regardless of materials.
Hope your cue finds a good home soon, sir. The fact that this one is still available is another checkmark in the "why is the market so bad?" category. Have faith....it'll move.
Be good,
Mark
