I don't know why I said rosewood in the title...the cue is definitely cocobolo, as you can see, and I can't change the title...forgive me for making a stupid mistake like that.

Everyone loves Bob Runde cues. The old Schons are nice cues from him, but his newer cues are real masterpieces with exceptional fit and finish. This particular Runde cue is a beautiful cocobolo with a beautiful color. I love wrapless cues, so that adds to the cue for me. Bob finished the cue off with a white Hoppe ring (not sure if it is ivory or not), nice ringwork, a micarta half-joint, and micarta ferrules. I know this is certain to be a wonderful player, but it has never been chalked or test hit.

-Butt: 14.8oz
-Shafts---both are matched at: 4.0oz, 13mm, Micarta ferrules, Triangle tips
-Stainless pinned solid micarta half-joint
-Black phenolic joint collars (A/B)
-Birdseye maple forearm
-Beautiful rich cocobolo points...dead-even
-Black and maple rings above/below the handle (C/D)
-Beautiful solid cocobolo handle
-Solid cocobolo butt sleeve
-White Hoppe ring with "RUNDE 13" engraved in it
-Black phenolic butt cap

Not very often, and not very many, but he still builds a few...for now. He may totally give it all up very, very soon, then there will be No More Rundes. Wonder what will happen to the value of his cues when he does totally retire....;)

For the record, Cocobolo IS a rosewood; Dalbergia retusa.

you won't find a better cue on the planet for the price. i've owned at least 20 rundes and his attention to detail is really impressive. as a bonus to the beauty is the playability. his work these days blows the old runde schons away.
