29 might be cheap.

Jim

29 might be cheap but getting someone to lay out that kind of money on pool cues is hard to find. You might want to hit the Aisian market.
Just my thought.

Here are photos of the Vic Morrow TAD. Anybody remember him from Combat or Blackboard Jungle?

Martin
I remember Vic Morrow very well.
Actress Jennifer Jason-Leigh is his daughter.
Vic, of course was killed during the filming of The Twilight Zone movie.
Director John Landis went on trial for manslaughter but was acquitted.

Tad

Boy does that cue bring back bad memories. Uncle Vic told me it would be mine some day. He forgot to leave it in writing :(

Trust me, you WON"T even get the Spector Balabushka case for 10K :D

You better have strong arms Roy. The cue weighs a freakin ton! I think it's actually illegal. Aren't cues limited to 25 ounces?

You should put these cues up at an auction house near Hollywood... The Cues are valuable enough by themselves, but the bidding for the notoriety of these cues might get nutty...

Lots of Hollywood types are secret collectors too...

Your not kidding that they can get nutty. The Baron cue that Johnny cash used in the movie "The Baron and the Kid" brought $6500 at his estate auction. The auction house had set the estimate at $700 to $800. It looked like a 80's custom Viking worth about $500 new. He also had a cheap Taiwan cue that brought $2500. It was maybe a $50 cue new. Let Sothesby's handle the Bushka and see what it brings.

Are there any blood stains these cues?

I am listing two cues for a local friend of mine who does not have computer skills. They are vintage cues from highly esteemed American cuemakers. Each cue was owned by well-known entertainment industry celebrities who knew each other. The 2 cues and cases are currently available as a package for 29.5K or near offer. Serious inquiries will be directed to the dealer.

The first cue was made by George Balabushka sometime between 1966 and 1971. It was owned by famous (and now infamous) record producer Phil Spector. His name engraved on plate on cue butt (as a gift from Joe Balsis).

This Balabuska cue has a Burton Spain ebony/ maple 4-veneer blank. The cue is in very good condition and appears to be entirely original. There are mother of pearl inlays in points and rear. The cue is 57-1/2" in length with either shaft (approximately 12.2mm, ivory ferrules). Both shafts have an extremely slight wobble (I do mean ultra slight). The wrap appears to be Cortland. The cue weighs 20.1 and 20.3 oz depending on the shaft. Box case is included.

The second cue is a Tad that was probably finished in 1974. It belonged to actor Vic Morrow and his name is engraved in the cue butt and on a case nameplate. There is another engraved plate that comes with the cue indicating that the cue was a birthday gift (February 14, 1975). The cue appears to be Brazillian Rosewood. It is 57-1/2" long and the wrap appears to be Cortland. Both shafts have ivory ferrules. One shaft is 13mm and dead straight. The other is 13.25mm and has a slight wobble. This TAD is in very good original condition. It is one of the heaviest cues I've ever seen at 26.70 and 26.75 ounces!

I wish the photos were better, but please enjoy them anyway. USA sales only. No trades and serious inquiries only please. Thanks.

Um, not that I can see. The history around the original cue owner is interesting to say the least. Very unfortunate circumstances for both men, with the helicopter accident costing Vic his life. Its cool that they enjoyed pool and appreciated having fine cues.

Maybe an auction house is not a bad idea. With the history the cues have they should really be on display somewhere. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll pass it along.
