Tip is 13.1mm, Kamui med soft tip. About 4 months old. Straight. Heavy 4.2 ounces. Lots of curly maple seen in this shaft. I had Ed make this for one of my Gilberts that I sold. I had to pay a premium since his better stock of shafts is saved for his higher end cues, not shafts made for other cues. Money talked and this shaft was created. It has the original Kersenbrock taper so it is a beast made of a fantastic piece of wood. 3/8x10 pin size. The joint is .850. If you have a Gilbert, you are in like flint. The best hitting shaft Ive ever owned. Purpleheart and white ring. I need 210.00 shipped. I paid 225.00 and try to get something from ED Young, it could take forever. Paypal is alright and I wont charge any extra to keep it simple. I cant sell for any cheaper, its much too nice. There are some other cues Im interested in, so here it is. Thanks, Deacon

In your opinion how do you describe the hit of this shaft versus stock Gilbert shaft? Thank you.

This is hard to answer but Ive had several Gilberts and Youngs as well and a Kersenbrock. I feel that they are generally a little firmer since they have a parabolic taper, I feel they have less deflection and better feedback. They seem to sound better (tone) The quality of the shaftwood seems better since it has been curing for years and years according to the Young/kersenbrock team. Ed told me that this piece was sitting for about 10 years. It cost me a pretty penny but this shaft is where its at. Deacon

Exactly

I have had Gilberts and Kersenbrocks and the above exactly how I would describe my experiences as well. EXACTLY!
