AA unsorted predominantly straightgrained vacuum kiln dried maple handles 20" x 1-3/8" dowels are on the way. I paid extra for the premium grade and length.

Being a woodworker by trade I have usually bought lumber and cut it, turned it round, etc. I have bought shafts in the past usually not satisfied. I bought 50 of these a few weeks ago. I am very much liking what I'm seeing. I haven't turned any yet but the quality is top notch. So far, just looking at the shafts I do not see any mineral, worm tracking, discolorations. I do see mostly straight grain, clear, decent to very decent in the growth rings.

Great stuff.
Why buy squares or mangled egg shaped "dowels" when you can buy true dowels you can clearly see grain pattern and all ?
At a great price.
