Here is an Olney cocobolo player I got in today, brand new from Jeff's shop. Cocobolo forearm and butt, linen wrap, natural phenolic joint collars and butt with beauty rings at A/B/E. Really a sweet piece of coco. 19.3 ounces, 13mm LBM ferrule with Moori medium, 3/8x10 flat-faced joint.

Cue is SOLD!! Thanks!!

very nice cue, what is the hit comparable to on his cues? Thanks

Very solid hit on his cues. Not really sure what they would compare to...what do you guys think? Rick Howard, SW, Carmelli, etc...??
Joe

Uh oh... Dont tell me you got rid of the wicker table. That thing is like a trademark now.

Nah...just got the cue late today and took some quick inside pics. I think the wicker table is sort of a trademark.......:D

i think they play similar to a SW with the stiff taper.i think they offer 3 basic tapers.i think he is one of the best out there.

Ooooohhhh I like that- unfortunately the wife is giving me the "stink eye" as I post this as she doesn't like it when I browse this forum- she says we need to finish the house before I'm allowed to "throw away" any more money on cues.

Women just don't get it.:p

I agree. As far as hit is concerned, I think Jeff's cues are the BEST I've ever felt. That includes some pretty illustrious company like Southwest, Josswest, Bluegrass, and Jensen. While Olney cues come with LBM ferrules, I special ordered a shaft from Jeff with an ivory ferrule and a Talisman medium tip on top of a shock pad and it still had that Olney hit. Jeff thinks it's a combination of his shaft's wood and taper and his tight 3/8 X 10 joint. There might be something to that. You need to go to the gym before you put an Olney together:D .

On my honor, whoever gets this cue for $475 is a very lucky pool player. BUMP for a great cuemaker and a great seller...Tom

Beautiful piece of cocobola! Jeffs cues play as consistently well as anything out there. Someones in for a real treat.

I have never had the pleasure of hitting with one...i hear that they are amazing. Very much like a SW. Perhaps i should consider a pruchase of one.

I totally agree with Tom on the hit, Mr Olney claims is in the shaft and the way it fits into the butt. It's a workout to put them together and take them apart.
Bump for a nice cue and good luck with sale.

wow...

Hard to believe that this cue is still available...great price and I'm sure it hits just like an Olney should...amazing.

Jeff Olney's Cues Make Southwest Look And Play Like A Damp Piece Of Straw. I Am Honored To Own 5 Of Jeff's Cues At The Present With One More In The Works....

He's A Super Guy To Deal With As Well.........
