I bought this over a year ago and have never finished the project.
So ... It is for sale.
New ... never used ... with 4th axis and stepper motors.

Can be broken down for shipping but it aint cheap as it is heavy.

Dont know exactly what to ask for this ... make an offer.

Does it have all the electronics, or just the motors?

You need to list EVERYTHING.

A breakdown would be helpful. Per Randy's post about the introductory pricing on these units, it was $2200 for a 18" x 48" unit including the motors & electronics back in April.
XZero Mini Raptor introductory special

It looks like Willee added a spindle mount and some kind of 4th axis, but I don't the brands or their values.

If I only knew what to do with it (mario scratching his head) but it looks so nice :)

ok ... here it is ... the break down.

Raptor 48" frame. (as pictured)

3 AMT HS-2320 stepper motors ( www.americanmotiontech.com)

Leadshine MX 4660 4 axis stepper controller.

Two 48 volt DC power supplys (one for the controller and one for the spindle)

Two router mounting brackets.

Heavy duty "A" axis spindle and tail stock.

Cable to hook up stepper motors to controller.

Two cable tracks.

If it isnt worth $3000 it aint worth selling.

Pick - up only in Corpus Christi Texas.
If you want to pay the shipping then I would take it apart and box it up in three or four boxes.
Assembly and setup instructions are on George's website.

Well that fine cue you have in your avatar photo would look even better with some nice inlay-ed diamonds at the base of the points.

That is what you would do with it.

Do you have a link? I went to his site - could not find anything remotely like instructions

Thanks.

I have the exact same setup except I haven't put it together yet. I have a CNC now that I built and use for inlays. The operating system I use now is AHHA which is now out of business and is a DOS system. Sherm has the same operating system and he is who taught me how to use it. If it weren't for him I would never have learned how to use it.

I'll be using Mach 3 with the new machine but now I will need to learn that system without Sherm's help. Just how hard is it to learn??? I've never been a real literate computer guru.

Aspire is the easiest. Lots of guys use Mastercam. Think Gina uses Gibbs. It's pretty easy and efficient, which is why it's so popular. I'm not that smart and I got one up and running. There is a feature in Mach where you tell it how far to move and then input how far it actually moves. That sets the steps. There are others here much better than me that can help.....

I'm sure zxero has the their mach settings for their lead screws ( steps per rev. etc ) .
Sorry for the hijack Willee.
Good Luck with the sale .

Now that you understand the basics of cnc it shouldnt be to hard for you Dick.
Just set aside a full day to play around with it.

No Problem ...

I set the steps on my smaller machine by measuring 6 inches of travel with a dial indicator and then tweeking the steps until it actually moves 6 inches.
I would use a larger movement but a 6" dial indicator is the largest I have.

Somewhat a slow process but it dials the machine right in very accurately.

It looks like I will be keeping the Raptor Mini ... If I can just get the motivation to get out there and put it together.

Dang ... if I could just win the powerball I could afford to go on making cues for a while.

That's how I did mine too. Only needed .100" . Did not need to go further than that .

That Raptor is just going to collect dust. Enjoy your retirement. Visit Disneyland. Drop me the Raptor. :D
