what happened to the points? Or was it just glare? Original pictures looked like the points had light streaks.

Is this a special order d16?

I've had several D-16. One a few there is some variation in the point color compared to the rest of the forearm. Same rosewood but different log or something, I don't know. I see finish flaking off the butt cap which is pretty common as well.

The original pictures were not taken well, the streaks you were seeing are just glare. There are no scratches or streaks on the butt

More concerned about what appears to be a cracked butt cap.

It's not a cracked buttcap, there is a slight layering problem(it looks like some small peels came off a lamination) on the buttcap. I was worried of it too initially and got it checked(it was like that when I bought). Seems like it is common and not a problem at all.
