Was that a knock? Or just a question/observation ...
Guess the answer would be that this limited run of cues was schons tribute to bushka, spear headed by our own Deano.
Good looking cues.
GL with sale.

funny when someone mentions not seeing balabushkas with cnc points

i would be willing to bet,you never saw a balabushka with balabushka points

i had schon make these tributes, and i saw them all in person and i promise the actual cues look better than these pictures

the cue itself is really very nice,i have heard nothing but great things about them

Dennis glenn ,the biggest Balabushka collector and expert (owns about 100) told me
that these cues were really nice, and the best honest tributes he has ever seen

in fact he bought a few more schons from me too

PS the reason i was bettingyou never saw a balabushka with balabuska points was because George Balabushka didn't make his own points
he bought them from others

the thing I like is that here is a nice chance to own a great playing modern cue, with the timeless old classic look that was popular when i was a kid

so far these are my favorite schons of all time

i am getting schon to do me another balabushka tribute ,willie mosconi's cue

i really like these, i personally love the cue

Was that a knock? Or just a question/observation ...

Was a questionable observation at best, but more like a knock. :)

Other differences are that these cues were made in 2012, they say "Schon" on the butt cap and shaft, are not made by anybody named "Balabushka", and make no claim to be an actual "Balabushka", but a tribute. Oh, and cnc points.

I can say that I am one of the owners of one of these cues. I can't speak for the other six, but mine is amazing. People literally come across the pool room to ooh and ahh the cue. They hold it in their hands and grin like little children. You would think it was the holy grail and they all ask two things, "how much was it" and then "where can you buy it?"

The thing shoots like magic. I don't know if it's the way Schons in general play, or just the way these tributes play, but it's a blast. The ring in front of the wrap is really classy. The colors of the veneers are super too. The genuine Cortland wrap is wound nice and tight. It just feels like history right in your hands. But with all the integrity of a modern day cue.

I know Deano has a second run of these tributes coming. I think this next one is limited to 12 this time around. This one is supposed to be a tribute to Mosconi's personal Balabushka. If I didn't have an eye on that next tribute I would buy this seller's cue. If the second tribute is half as nice as this current one then my, my it will be sweet.

Good luck with the sale. These cues are amazing. I'm a Schon fan after this. ...If I just had a bit more money I'd just buy this one too! Whomever ends up with it will love it for sure.

Schon Balabushka Tribute Cue

I own one of these tribute cues and previously posted that I was considering selling mine. Well, if I were to do that, I could offer the most complete package of any of the Schon Balabushka Tribute Cue owners..... shafts with ivory ferrules (12.5mm, 12.75mm & 13mm)...only the 12.75mm shaft has been played with......well, my posting still hasn't gone up because this cue is just dead nuts gorgeous.....screw the points issue....the BEM is just beautiful, the veneers are classic George Balabuska colors, the wrap is incredible in look and feel, and the butt sleeve could have come right from an original Balabushka cue it looks that good.

The cue weight has the classic forward momentum feel of a Schon with a crisp, solid hit to it. I have no complaints with my cue whatsoever and frankly, all of the photos of the cue I've seen on AZ and e-Bay do not portray the striking good looks and sharpness of the inlays that are in my cue. Every MOP inlay is precisely and sharply cut without displaying any jaggedness and the Cortland wrap stands out so nicely against the ebony prongs in the foreram above the wrap. Now some of you may recall reading in one of my prior posts that I've switched to ivory joint cues and that's all I play with now. I have been selling my steel jointed cues so what in heavens sake would possess me to get this cue.

It was just a hunch...call it intuition.....and I was right. It's just a darn good looking cue and everyone that's seen it has told me so as well. If you like Schons...and I realize not everyone does....and if you like a great looking Balabushka cue design....and some folks might not like the classic look....and if you love original Cortland Linen wrap....not just Irish Linen or Silk but real, authentic Cortland Linen (and I think Cortland #9 looks best which happens to also have been the favorite choice of George Balabushka), then these cues are definitely going to appeal to you.

Remember that these cues are essentially Schon Elite Series cues since there were only seven (7) cues made and the best news is this design will not be duplicated by Schon again. As Deanoc has done his best to let everyone know, the next cue Schon does as a Tribute will be Willie Mosconi's favorite Balabushka cue and that series will have twelve (12) cues which is equivalent to Schon's Ltd Series.

Maybe I'll decide to part with my cue some day.....it's basically going to stay unplayed as I'm strictly playing with ivory joint cues nowadays....but this cue just looks so smoking hot that every time I think about composing a sale listing, I just can't quite bring myself to actually doing it. I take the cue out and then I look at it and think....Wow....and there's only six brother/sister cues out there and I might just have the prettiest out of all the cues. I'm sure the other six owners feel the same way about their cues but I do know I have one of the lightest Balabushka design cues made by any cue-maker at only 19 ozs. So all in all, I am pretty pleased to own a limited edition Schon cue that's even a little more distinct and special.
