Fs Taom jump/break tips

I recently got a big order of taom tips in from Finland
I tried a dozen before making a larger order and feedback has been wonderful.
These tips break hard, jump well and look cool.
They are available in red, orange, blue, green, yellow, white
Something weird is going on with my tapatalk so I can't post pictures :(
I'm going to sell these tips for 25$ each, a bit of a deal for 5 tips @ 110$
 
I guess that it wouldn't be hard to figure out that Blue would be my favorite color.

How would you rate these compared to other man made material type of break/jump tips etc?

Anything different about them that would make you feel that they stand out differently than others on the market.

Are they like the typical phenolic resin tips or something that you would rate closer to a White Diamond.

The reason that I ask is, I get quite a few inquires re break and jump tips. If a person wants leather, but as hard as a phenolic, but not typical phenolic characteristics. I can give them a Mad Man tip. Most like the Mad man as a jump, but not a break, as they don't like phenolic. With the exception of a few, I get told that the Mad Man is too close to phenolic for them.

Leather. I can give them a Super Pro for a break tip, but they don't work well for a jump tip. Most love the Super Pro as a breaker.

I have phenolic tips, but many want to get away from that. I have the G 10 that you sold me, but the same principle.

I can press a Le Pro or triangle, but not much different than a Super.

I have a White Diamond but have never tried it out yet. I have used one and they seem to be decent.

So, that puts us in a bit of a conundrum so to speak as we seem to be at a loss for variety on these types of tips.

Might sound silly, but from talking to most players, they seem to want something with the control of a leather tip, breaks hard like a phenolic. That type of thing. The best of both materials and both Worlds.

This one is kind of a head scratcher. I have limited stock other than Supers, Mad Man, and Phenolic.

I feel that I am missing something that is in between and wish that I could give them what they want.

Are these what I have been searching for?

Any special Preps that you do to install these. Glue and such?

I've installed around 15 of them, everyone loves them!
They break awesome and jump super too.
I will quote direct from taom about the material

These are going to be my recommended break tip and I am going to do some experimenting with ferrule combinations to maybe redesign my jump cues to use them as well.
I am very happy with the looks and performance for sure.
I install exactly as every other tip, if I get a chance I'll put up a you tube vid
 
Are the colors indicative of hardness or just for décor? Next question, due to the description of multiple ingredients, organic and chemical, should one take more precautions when trimming and shaping these?

The colors are just for decoration :)
Orange looks great on bk2, but yellow matches bk3 nicely :D

When cutting and shaping, I don't notice any smell at all, and they don't make dust,
More like thin ribbons when cutting

Looks like the trim nicely, they may break hard but hows it with holding chalk to position the cue ball on the table??? G10 breaks and jumps great but they miscue and glaze over and dont hold chalk so I've turned away for that reason to using g10 ferrule and a pressed superpro or triangle...

They seem as hard as phenolic while breaking, with a touch of "give"
I know that sounds like a bunch of non information :)
All I can say for sure is I'm sold on these tips
 
Darcy, your price is the best I've seen so far. And yet I find it hard to justify such amount for a b&j tip (actually ANY tip). A year ago our local players could have agreed to pay $25-30 but now dollar is expensive for the Europeans and that makes imported goods cost almost twice as they did before :frown:

Would try to study the demand here, maybe we'd manage to qualify for $110 per 5. $100 would be better though :grin:

In order to get more info about those tips so far, I wonder if they could bring any kind of damage to the cue ball's surface (provided you compare them to phenolic, and phenolic do damage the whitey)

I think these are softer than phenolic although they feel as if it hits harder......
 
I will text you Sunday or Monday.

I think that we have talked re how cheap the players are in Regina.

But, that doesn't mean that I can't use one myself and keep an extra on hand.

My one Buddy likes experimenting with different tips and am almost sure that he will take one or two.

So, I will probably be good for a 5 lot.

Hmmm. Just have to choose colors now. I know that 2 will be Blue fer sure.

Like Vahmurka said, still not a bad price. I believe that the person that was selling those Onendegas or how ever you spell that, was asking much more. I have seen them. Nothing overly special.

BTW. I got an 8 on the break the other night in League. I expect to be getting more with one of these on.

The spelling is odega. I install them for less than $25.00, in my area I think it would be hard to sell a j/b tip for $40.00

I'm sure every market is a bit different,
Where I am, I don't have a tip below 30$ installed.
I have installed 14 taom in a little over 2 weeks with no unhappy customers.
I couldn't be more happy with the product...
