Here's another 1969 Burton Spain blank with slightly different veneers from the one that ended last Sunday week. I believe this to be the last Burton Spain blank I will have for sale.

Ending this Sunday 3/1, I'm auctioning off a 1969 Burton Spain short splice pool cue forearm blank. My guarantee is simple, 100% satisfaction or return for complete refund. If the buyer feels that their dissatisfaction is due to a misdescribed auction, I refund all the postage as well.

This auction won't disappear suddenly. I don't end auctions early. I don't have items for sale locally. This auction will run to the end. Interested buyers will all have an equal chance to bid and win the auction.

Please let me know if I can be of assistance.

I think

I think this is the last one. There is one other, but I'm probably going to make a cue out of it.

Thanks

over/under

Kev,

Well since I was so accurate with Jay Helfert's crooked old butt (sorry, I just love sayin' that), I'm gonna set my personal line at $500 and take the over.

I think that's more than the last one but:

a. this is (might be) the last spain blank on the planet if you make a cue outta the other one.

b. people have seen your cue and how amazingly good it looks

c. somebody's prob'ly pissed they got outbid last second on the other one.

Finally you are wrong (I hope). The last one went a little over a grand :

The first one a little over $900:

Your reign of terror as the over/under meister is over!

Uh Oh !!!!!

Russ......

Yes Joe is probably no longer the line meister.

I'll take the over.

Thanks

Before/After

Here's a couple of pics of the Ginacue Ernie Gutierrez made for me out of my 1969 Burton Spain blank.

K-Brew,

How does that thing hit??

Has it improved your game any?? :D

Russ.....

Russ

Actually the new cue has improved aspects of my game. Ernie taught me things about how feel and balance can be controlled in the making of a cue, got me to actually learn to quantify what "feel" I preferred and this cue fits me better than any cue I've owned.

Thanks

Kevin

Another Nice Blank

Kevin,
I dropped off my Blank last week at my local pro-cue makers shop. I'm very excited about my project. I can only hope it turns out like yours. I'll keep an eye out on this one, but I'm sure it the price will get up there in the last seconds.
There are not too many 40yr old blanks around made by a hall of fame cue maker who was known largely for making blanks(and is retired).
Good luck with you sale,
Dan Z

Thanks for the well wishes.

Dropping off your Spain blank must have been fun. I'm sure you will be as happy with your cue as I am with mine, although I'm sure the cue will appear quite different.

I wonder how many there are. I know that Tasc got some Gus blanks when he bought Balabushka's stock but I don't know if there were Spains in there or not, and I have no idea how many Hercek has (or had), if any. I think I have recently seen someone offering or showing a Hercek made with a Spain blank, but I don't know when that cue was made. Ernie originally bought 24 blanks for Burton in 1969 and there were 7 left when I got to them. 2 I gave back to Ernie to make cues from, 3 I've sold, 1 is on eBay right now and I'm holding 1 that I'll probably have a cue made from.

I can't wait to see yours and would love to see any pics you get of the process. have you decided on a design or the joint yet?

Last Bump

With a little less than an hour to go in the auction, the bidding is to $760, a little over Joe's line and just under Russ's.

All bids in?

All Through?

Fair warning.

Thanks everyone who looked or participated in the auction.

Thanks again

Kevin

The Over

Auction ended at $877, past both Joe's and Russ's lines. How many times do I have to tell you guys?

Thanks to everyone who participated.

I have one 1969 Burton Spain blank remaining, if I don't have someone turn it into a cue, I'll be back to bug you all again.

Thanks again

Kevin
