Considering there's approximately 200.00 worth of material invested either somebody is going to get a smokin hot deal....or it's too good to be true and they will get burned.

Since your new on the forums, you might consider escrow service.

Is a beautiful cue though and nice piece of amboyna.

I know am really new to the forums and am still quite shy (hehehe)...

I guess its a great deal for a good piece of wood right there. Nature's work of art. This is truly too good to be true. I'd keep the description brief coz I believe the cue will speak for itself.

Neways, I might just ship it to my brother and have it sold there. He's in Jacksonville, Florida and hoping to fetch a better price :embarrassed2: (Or my nephew who is now in Virginia). Escrow is good but we don't have much time in our hands to focus on how it works. We just want a swift deal, an honest to goodness one and that's it, I know how impossible that sounds esp in int'l sales, and this is a first for us, but everything has a risk that anyone would have to take, i guess - even us.

I may be posting some more cues in the future (brand new ones) from a local cuemaker who makes quality cues and is very humble. May also invest some cues myself and send it to Florida and fellas here may get a good deal out of it. (I just mentioned that so that it's goin' to be a lot easier for ppl here to see it personally )

Thanks for the replies and more power to AZB...

My thoughts exactly! It is a damn nice looking cue though. I'm almost tempted to see which of the above it is.

I remember feelings like this in poker... Call, raise or fold? haha :groucho:

A cue that doesn't need any points, inlays or boxes to prove its beauty (no offense meant to cue designers). The cue speaks for itself.

I guess it could've been more convincing if the price was higher for the rarity of the wood... modesty aside, am not the kind of person who takes advantage of such. We just wanted this cue to find a new home.

Although most people don't know me on AZ, I have 100% iTrader transactions and I think that if you checked any of the people that I have made deals with, they would say that I'm an honest guy.

Anyway I would like to vouch for Kaye (Sikayeako). When I visited Manila in July I played in a local tournament there and she and I actually played in the finals and she beat me! Anyway, I trust her and I would guarantee that if you purchase the cue from her that you will get the cue that is described and in the condition she says it is in.

I don't know how much weight that carries but I just wanted you to know that Kaye is real and not a scam artist or anything negative. She has helped me a lot in my quest to retire in Manila at the end of this year. I trust her!

Good luck!

Pretty Cue!

I have purchased several cues from the Phillipines, and I know that the freight from there to the USA is between $40 and $50. One must remember that the hourly wage there is about 40 cents an hour.
I had a custom eight pointer, loaded with ivory (shipped) for a total of $400. I was literally blown over when I received the cue. I had previously taken the same design to a US cuemaker. He wanted $3400 to build the same cue. Not ALL Phillipine cues are of the same quality, however, I love the one's that I have received.
The Amboyna is this cue is gorgeous!

nice

Hi Jeff

It is so Good to hear from you Bro

Thanks so much for the kind words "Kapatid" (brother) and it really means a lot to me... We just took this chance to make this sacrifice sale not only for personal gain but also to help some relatives' concerns (aftermath of the typhoon). Again, thanks a mil.

This cue is the last piece of two tone amboyna burl that the cuemaker had. All that's left there (which I would be posting here too, hehehe) is just enough for the butt, so the forearm would be in pure amboyna burl with the magnificent swirls. This is from our personal collection, our only amboyna cue and that would probably say much about any separation anxieties...

Thanks so much again for the replies (esp to you Jeff, looking forward to seeing you in our Xmas Party on Dec) and more power to AZ

Am proud to be a Filipina and I would say that indeed our brothers here makes real good cues with very good craftsmanship which are also very reasonably priced. Our cues here are humbly made with passion and the finished cue says it all.

Sill for sale

SOLD!!!!!

Lots of comedians here. I don't think it is in good form to say something in a sincere post that it has been sold. Or others that said it was for sale for $50.

Until Kaye says it is sold, it has not been sold.

Up  for a One of a Kind, Rare, Unique Two Tone Amboyna Burl cue...

Some info on AMboyna Burl...

AMBOYNA

Pterocarpus Indicus
Pterocarpus Indicus of the family Leguminosae (subfamily Papilionoideae) the legume or pea family.

Amboyna is a marvelously luxurious burl from the tree that is commonly known as narra. Some reports say that the name amboyna only applies to the veneer made from the burl, but if so that rule is honored only in the breech since all the dealers I am aware of refer to both the solid burl pieces and the veneer as amboyna or amboyna burl, but not narra burl.

A rare, exotic hardwood that grows in Southeast Asia and has a fragrant aroma. It can vary in color from yellow to golden brown to red, and is generally considered excellent for both turning and finishing. Don Mogelefsky of the Exotic Wood Group says "You might think of Amboyna as 'the burl with the swirl.' Thanks in part to its wavy grain, Amboyna Burl is figured with numerous, captivating swirls." His site offers an impressive variety of amboyna burl and other exotics.
