FS: Unused GINACUE at True No Reserve Auction

What kind of finish did Ernie put on it? From the pics it looks more satin than high gloss. Whatever it is , it is really breathtaking.

I think he applied his usual finish. It just looks different because the cue has very light maple and I blew a little too much light on it when I took the pics.

There's a lot of talk about investments in general these days, and some talk of a soft cue market at present (although from my experience Ginas and Szams seem pretty well excluded from that) but what do you feature this stick will be worth in 10 years? I think a premier cue from a valued maker that has some level of individuality will far outperform many investments and will provide the owner much more enjoyment in the meantime.

Thanks

Kevin

24 Hour Warning

Here's a bump for a 24 hour warning. The auction ends tomorrow about this time. Are all bids in?

Thanks

Kevin

with ebay the way it is i think it does 3899.00 or 4099.00 man i hope it goes higher but really high end cues dont do much on ebay even n a good market! and i msure kevin knows that! or it wouldnt be no reserve!

It looks like your line is 4K and you are not alone. I'll take the over.

All I know is eBay and everything goes up with no reserve (except super rare consignments). Heck I sold a Gus Szamboti box cue on eBay in a $9.99 start no reserve auction and that cue was sort of high-end.

Thanks

Hey Kevin,
Wish the timing was better. What a fantastic cue!! The butt sleeve is such a perfect example of simplistic beauty.

Take care and tell Ernie hey...............

good luck with the sale bro. i hope it goes over 4500! but ebay has been brutal with the rules and regs! think they lost alot of sellers and buyers!

I love windows and boxes. Ernie matched Burton Spain's veneers in the windows of my cue and matched the Titlist veneers pretty well in this cue. The guy is getting pretty good at making pool cues. Just imagine what his stuff will look like in another 47 years.

I'll tell Ernie hi for both of us and hurry up for both of us.

Thanks

Kevin

Gosh I must be running lucky but my business has gotten better every quarter since I started and I'm even surviving in this economy which is a blessing compared to what I hear from many of my self-employed pals.

I'll be thankful to get whatever the cue brings at auction.

Thanks again

Kevin

I was there a couple of days ago. Your cue and my cue were sitting in his rack while Ernie showed me moves he was making reconstructing an old Joss West cue.

Your cue looked to me a medallion and some clear away from being done, I'd be breaking my piggy bank open if I were you.

Thanks for the update!! It shouldn't be too long for either of us.

I will be selling plasma and one kidney in the next couple of weeks. :wink2:

I, on the other hand, just went up there and placed an order today. So it may be a while before he even pulls the 2X4's out of the pile.

Has the line changed on the over/under on this auction? If it's $4K, I like the over.

BTW, Ernie showed me "1 of 2" today and it is indeed a stunning cue. Really like something out of a time capsule, so pristine yet traditional like his original window cues from the 60's.

Kev, I know see what you mean about the finish. It just didn't show in the pics that I saw. It is beautiful.

Longer for me than it is for you, but that's fair as I just got the one I'm selling.

I can't wait to see yours once he has sprayed it.

There's been $3800, a couple of 4Ks and even a 6K, soon we shall see what there is to see. I thought the price I asked for on AZ was fair but the auction will have to move a bit to get there.

It's cool that you ordered a cue form Ernie, sounds like you plan to do it every 40 years or so. Now you have no need for that old used beat up over the hill out of date Titlist Domino, give me your PayPal eMail address and I'll send you a couple of hundred for it.

What did you order?

Kevin
