No. I do believe Mr Kerry Zeiler made it that weight without a weight bolt.

Zeiler doesn't splice.

I can't see the image from my office, but as I recall, the fore looked like it was spliced radially the way a 314 shaft is.

Those are just natural grain pattern.

Its prob my over-processing of the photo. But it is not spliced in anyway!
