So what do we take away from all this... Scruggs cues = Caveat emptor???

I tell ya what I'm taking away from all of this...

The Scruggs market has been SERIOUSLY tainted by the two guys who were apparently trying so desperately to protect it. Congrats guys.

To this day I have never owned a Cochran or Scruggs cue. Had many impulses and desires to buy one, but just hadn't pulled it. After reading this thread and many others involving people who frequently wheel and deal these cues, I likely will not buy one anytime soon. It has nothing to do with this specific cue being labelled as counterfeit, but rather the demeanor of specific people who sell these cues. For shame.

This has nothing to do with Scruggs Cues

I see a fake Rambo I say it's fake. I see a fake Szam I say it's a fake. I see a fake Scruggs and for the first time in my life I have a group of imitation Scruggs experts page after page be little me.
Fakes are fake. Fake experts in the thread David Steelman- Bob Corcoran-Wesley Snipes and Jeramy they argued and argued and argued..
Don't like the truth keep it to your self.
Eric has almost 200 Scruggs and Cochran and Black Boars combined. He calls alot before buying TS or Cochran Cuesand he isn't the only person that does. The #1 collector of TS Cues and Cochran Cues on the planet. He never sells a Cue. Most people that call never sell a Cue.
This selling of counterfit Cues has been going on for decades. I have never had my judgement questioned until these wana be's piped in.
I buy what I like and care less if I sell anything I own. It is called collecting.
5 buyers and sellers of TS Cues called yesterday and said they didn't want to buy a TS unless it crossed my hands. They were people I didn't know. This thread has exposed the rampant selling of Scruggs Cues with non TS shafts and the counterfeiting now happening in the market.
These buyers you see want nothing to do with Scruggs fake Cues and replaced shafts alright.
Buyers want the real deal. Their problem IS NOW THAT You experts are not worth buying a Scruggs Cue from. Your opinions? Hello walls.
Take that to the bank,
Nick :)

So what you are saying is... with all these people calling you about Scruggs cues and needing information about their authenticity does mean Scruggs = Caveat Emptor... correct?

Not just selling, but trying to profit off the death of a beloved cuemaker. In the months following Mike Cochrans tragic death, Nick was seen selling four point cues for 8,000 (double the prior resale value). Its a shame those threads were deleted

Then why are you constantly selling cues too???

EDIT: Just read the last pages of the orig thread and see it's been settled.

pls disregard the babble below.

I don't hold myself out to be a TS expert but I do know a little bit about them and have owned many. I would say I'm more than a casual observer. They have been the main area of my cue collecting focus.

This cue has some physical attributes that, for me, raise red flags and that coupled with some other very pertinent info has caused me to cast my vote that this is NOT a real TS cue. I'm feeling quite confident about it.

I'll say this: Don't place too much value on any joint similarities to known ts cues.

I don't know if anyone has tried but it sure would have been interesting for someone to try to backchannel this from Joe Salazar to see where that led.

best,
brian kc

No expert on anything!

Amen! Too bad some good people are fooled by him into believing he is an expert. He is not!

Too bad you don't tell the real story on how the profit of a bunch of TS cues from Nick was sent to Mike's Wife.Did you donate? How about you Bob?

Wow

All this over a bunch of Con men trying to fake TS Cues and getting caught with their pants down.. I'll let my reputation speak for itself.
People that donated out of kindness like myself deserve to be mocked by everyone I guess.
Bob you bought a Cue that allowed money to be donated. Dean had the Cue finished after paying in advance to have it built. Bob in fact to that transaction donated nothing. Bob bought a Cue. Dean who donated many 10's of thousands of dollars. I donated probably more than your truck is worth.
None profited here. All supported. Sorry if you can not relate to this fact Joe Blow or John Doe or whoever.
And no one has ever seen anything you have fabricated about me at all. Confusing me with David Steelman? He still owes the shop for Cues he has sold claiming they were guifts. Tim begs to differ.
Shouldn't lie like that.

What con men were trying to fake TS cues? Who got caught with their pants down? I've followed this thread and the others on this subject from the beginning. I never saw one person exposed as being a con man behind this cue. Not one. Who are you referring to????

It does Nick. It really, REALLY does. You have NO idea.

It's a shame this turned out the way it did. Makes me never want to own a Tim Scruggs cue. Not so much because of the fakes, but because regular collectors aren't allowed to know how to ID them properly..not to mention the drama..

waste of time. More hassle than I would wan't.
