There have been many threads over the years discussing and showing examples of each. You should be able to find them using search.
Basically, the full-splice has a singe piece of wood that is milled to fit into the v-grooves cut into a forearm piece. The half-splice method uses four pieces of wood (one for each point) spliced into the forearm v-grooves.
