Fundamentals - Links

Thank you Pidge, bookmarked.

I know a few people on here undermined your posts and gave harsh criticism due to snooker related fundamentals but I pretty much agree with everything you posted and learned a thing or two.

Reminded me of how important this stuff is and made me wonder why I stopped doing dedicated fundamental drills every day or two.

Actually helped my game. So thank you. Genuinely.

There is not a one size fits all when it comes to shot making. I can post pics from shots during practice that there is no way to do what is described.

What do you do when the one size fits all does not fit?

This is one of th problems using set up shots. Seldom do they truely reflect all possible shooting positions.

Use your stance and stroke the same when using a bridge or even shooting one handed or on certain shots where behind your back cueing is best.

I'm right handed, I shoot with my left foot forward at times. Some shots, shooting with my right foot forward works better because of the cb position on the table.

Forget trying to following any set guidlelines. The one and only thing you have to do with the cue is stroke it through the cb where you want and this must be able to be done standing on your head if needed.

This is why I play at my level, and that is why you play at your level. Just saying. There are obviously set guidelines on all of the links provided. Take the stance for example - the feet, grip, elbow, vision centre, V in your bridge, shoulder...they all should revolve around the line of aim. Back foot angled the same everytime compared to your line of aim. Front foot also aligned the same each time.it aids consistency. Snooker fundamentals are all based on a set blue print of what the ideal looks like. Due to body structure, ailments, gender and so on things differ slightly, but at the heart of it you can pick out similarities between the very best players in the world...because they started with the guidelines I've outlined in the fundamental threads and then taken it from their to adapt it to themselves.
