Fundraiser/Sponsorship

Maybe we could all make a donation to the "Save Geometry from being banned for a week fund".

Oops, too late.

Damn, even with you giving him bad rep, hes still green?

The only thing we can hope is that these ladies will come back and hang out with us. I really would enjoy reading about their experiences in China.

I kind of think they will. After all, we are all members of the Tribal Nation of Pool. ;)

As someone who has come to benefit from the generosity of the wonderful members of this forum, I find your post extremely asinine. If, in saying this, you flame me then go right ahead.

Not once in their post did they beg or plead for money, they are simply trying to help 3 girls who have earned a spot to a prestigious event represent their country.

Of course everyone could use money in these hard economic times, but they aren't asking for you to pay their everyday bills. In fact, based on my assumptions from your posts (while I never like to assume things) they weren't asking YOU specifically for anything.

If you were simply trying to rile people up, then congratulations on being a forum troll....

You won't get a cent from me.

Lets call this what it is, it's e-begging masquerading as fund-raising or sponsorship.

So many charities in the world that are in need.

Just think of those in Pakistan and Haiti for example. I just want you to visualise a person that has lost everything... family, home, livelihood, friends... everything. Now I want you to think of 3 stupid little girls who want to have a good time and I want you to weight up on who deserves the money more?

HERE IS A REAL CHARITY! http://www.dec.org.uk/

I am sure you understand this is a pool and billiard website.

Hello and good day to you all, I hope this day finds you well. As you know billiard players from around the world strive to excel in a sport that doesn't receive much recognition and support from corporate companies. Presidents & CEO's work hard to change the opinions of many onlookers whether it be at the local pool hall, the news or even through ESPN by marketing their brand names.

It is at this point we look to you our friends and fans of women's billiards for assistance in helping 3 of our very own recognized female billiard players from Canada, Brittany Bryant, Veronique Menard and Denise Belanger. These 3 ladies have been selected to represent Canada at the upcoming 2010 Women's World 9 Ball Championships in Shenyang, China on August 26th - 29th, 2010. We are asking if you would be so kind in donating a fund of your choice to assist these 3 ladies for help in travelling costs & hotel. All funds collected will be split accordingly. Those wishing to assist and become a sponsor of these ladies will be recognized through the CWPT website as well as the ladies personal websites http://www.brittanybryant.com, http://www.denisebelanger.ca or Facebook pages Veronique Menard.

At this point we would graciously like to thank you all in advance for your kind support.
Please direct your attention to the CWPT website www.cwpt.ca in the news section on the main page, where you may choose a button of your choice or you may paypal krista.walsh@rogers.com
Thank you kindly
CWPT staff

I would like to sponsor these girls!

I recently met Brittany Bryant at Table Steaks South in Denver,Co. I was very impressed with her, and only 19! wow! Here's one of her matches

I have also corresponded with Denise concerning LIVE coverage of one or more of the Women's events. Like JAM, I am also impressed with Denise.

Krista, I have never had the pleasure of meeting, but I am anxious to find out more about her!

I hit him with red rep, too, but it's not enough. We need to bring out the big red guns, dag nab it!

I haven't because I have him on Ignore and have since he appeared here. That's what "Ignore" is for, folks!

Fundraiser update

Hello there. I just wanted to update you all and thank everyone for their support of the 3 Canadian ladies going to China for the World 9 Ball Championships. To date we have managed to raise $1,650. Thank you very much, your kindness will never be forgotten.
Have a fabulous day!!!

.... I for such support United Way here in Toronto through my company...
Denise
Not that it has anything to do with this thread, but I've found that by giving directly to charities I support I accomplish more. The United Way takes a pretty good size administrative bite IMO.
