WTH is it?

If I had to venture a guess, I would say it is a CNC panel. If each of the circuit boards is an individual motor driver and each of the power supplies powers a single stepper or servo. It would have been decent sized motors--the CNC cue machine I made uses one power supply about that size for three size 23 motors.

So broken off of something or another for the copper inside?

If it was, they took the wrong stuff. There probably wasn't ten pounds of stranded wire, 12-18ga.. The power supplies start at about $30 each (off brand, a Mean Well would probably be over $50). Not a ton of money involved in what is shown, but having extra power supplies is always useful.

Now that I think about it, it may have come from a led lighting system, also--anything that takes DC power and some control.

I'm guessing it was scrapped equipment of some sort.
