No worries here , I know here in Montana we've got sturgeon that can reach 20' + in Fort Peck and then Flathead Lake but they are rarely ever seen or caught for that matter once they reach that size .

I've caught much small sturgeon and released them right away as they are a slow growing fish that hasn't changed much in the past 1000 years or so ha ha

One time when we went through Coffee Pot rapid on the Rogue River in Oregon and eddied out river left at the bottom we saw one that was 18-20' long.

There's a small 15-20' waterfall that dumps into an eddy which is maybe 40' across and we were eating lunch there in a 14' raft. A sturgeon that was swimming upstream took a rest in the eddy just below the surface next to our raft for 5 minutes or so. Then it proceeded to swim up Coffee Pot (which is a mile long).

In the last few seconds of the video below you can see mouth of the eddy where the waterfall (that's hidden) comes in just downstream on river left.
