Actually can see the girl...weird.

Very cool. I wonder if we're "seeing" the monitor pixels that aren't turned on?

I'll try it with a piece of white paper and see if I get the same result.

UPDATE: It worked with plain paper too, so it doesn't have anything to do with the monitor pixels.
 
It is basically that the rods and cones in your eyes (the sensors for seeing light and color) align themselves more the longer you look at something and take time to adjust when you look somewhere else. The bright white surface accentuates the phenomenon.

well maybe someone understands this but not i-why does it adjust to an image you havent seen?
