True story, a friend had a poker addiction. We were working four tens and he often stopped in the back room of a bar to play poker on his way home on a Thursday and didn't get home until Sunday.
This happened one week. He came in Sunday afternoon and after a shower thinking a little fence mending might be in order he suggested to his wife they go to the local bar for a few drinks. The bar was very long and thin, looked like originally planned as a commercial warehouse. With the bar in front, a few tables to drink at, and a few pool tables in the rear. I had scouted the place for gambling at pool but didn't like the gauntlet that you had to walk past that bar to get back out. As they go in the place guys sitting at the bar say things like, "Hey babe", Hey Debs", "hey honey", a few more friendly and very familiar greetings.
By the time they got to their table Jim wanted to know what the hell was going on. She said, "You have been in the streets for three days, so was I!"
"You knew I was playing poker!"
"You did what you wanted to do, I did what I wanted to do."
Women will always get even, with interest. Lots and lots of interest!
