I received an email this morning promoting this new product. Yes, this is a real, actual product!

Have we really reached the point where society needs Beer Can Shorts?

Yes. Yes we have. I have several pairs. They’re perfect for wade fishing, especially live baiting for snook on an outgoing tide. The time it takes to out your beer in your pocket is the optimal time you need to feed a grunt to a snook before setting up.

Well, I stand corrected!

Used to fish in the Gulf when I lived on the Beach Highway in Gulfport and then in the Back Bay when someone stationed at Keesler Air Force Base would take me.

Later, fished for Bass at Percy Priest Lake outside of Nashville. Got a custom rod and reel as my High School graduation present.

Haven't fished in quite a while, though. Not sure how I fell away from the hobby/lifestyle.

You'll find your way back, fishing is like that.

When my parents lived in Port St. Lucie, and I'd go down for a visit, my dad and I would go wading in the Indian River Lagoon. Mostly just Speck Sea Trout and assorted Jacks, but it was fun. You could see something big chasing the baitfish up under the mangrove trees, but I was never able to get anything up under there fast enough to catch it. Could have been a snook or a tarpon. One time, a little deeper than waist deep in murky water I was throwing a popper and catching Jacks like every cast, they were that aggressive. Along comes a pod of dolphin (the mammal) and they're only about 20 yards or so away. It was cool for the first few minutes, then it spooked me. I backed out to about knee-deep, my dad thought that was funny. I didn't want something 8-9 feet long swimming around me in water that was anything but clear.
Those shorts would have worked quite well.
